The printed total is 72, so only Alcremie VMAX, 073/072, is a secret rare. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. How set completion works →

What a complete set costs

One copy of every card in Shining Fates, bought as singles, cost $75.37 on October 22, 2026, and its Shiny Vault $622.79 more. Together that is the 10th most expensive of the seventeen sets in the Sword & Shield series.

Complete set $75.37
Main set, 001 to 072 $71.16
1 secret rare $4.21
Top three cards $23.74 (32%)

The three most valuable cards, Poké Kid, Skyla and Alcremie V, come to $23.74, or 32% of the total. Without them the set costs $51.63. Of the 73 cards, 64 were under $2.00, together $28.01; the other 9 add up to $47.36.

The Shiny Vault's 122 cards are priced separately, and 24% of their $622.79 is in its top three cards, Charizard VMAX, Morpeko and Suicune.

Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil where both exist, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.

Playing it

Shining Fates cards carry the D and E regulation marks, and Standard has allowed only H, I and J since April 10, 2026, so none is Standard-legal as printed. Shining Fates is legal in Expanded, which takes every set from Black & White on, except for Flapple (SV013/SV122), on the Expanded banned list.

A reprint with a legal mark makes older printings of the same card legal again, so check a card's name before you rule it out.
