Star Wars: Unlimited Aspect Combinations

Players name a Star Wars: Unlimited deck by its leader's two aspects: Vigilance Villainy, Aggression Heroism, Cunning Heroism. There are eight of these pairings, and this page links a guide to each one.

Almost every leader prints one style aspect (Vigilance, Command, Aggression or Cunning) and one side (Heroism or Villainy), and the base adds a third icon. That gives eight leader pairings, each with its own characters, leaders and play style. Each guide below covers how the pairing plays, its strengths and weaknesses, four leaders that show what it does, its signature cards, and what each base color adds.

Counts on these pages come from the six Premier-legal sets as of October 2026: Jump to Lightspeed, Legends of the Force, Secrets of Power, A Lawless Time, Ashes of the Empire, Homeworlds. If you are new to aspects, start with the explainer, which covers the aspect penalty and how your leader and base provide aspects.

Star Wars: Unlimited aspects, explained →

Heroism (white) pairings

The hero side: the Rebel Alliance, the Resistance, the Jedi, the Republic and many Mandalorians and smugglers. Each of the four style aspects pairs with Heroism on its own set of leaders.

Villainy (black) pairings

The villain side: the Empire, the First Order, the Sith, the Separatists and much of the Underworld. The same four style aspects, on a different set of leaders and cards.

Leaders Outside the Eight

As of October 2026, 9 of the 108 Premier leaders don't follow the pattern. Six pair two style aspects with no side, one for each possible pair, so their decks pay the penalty on every Heroism and Villainy card. DJ prints two Cunning icons. Anakin Skywalker and Darth Revan print only Heroism or only Villainy, so with a base their decks cover two aspects. Each is a single leader rather than a pairing, so they are listed here rather than given a page.

Finding Decks

Decks players publish on TurnZero HQ are listed at the decks page, searchable by deck name or by a card in the deck, such as a leader's name, and filterable by format.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many aspect combinations are there in Star Wars: Unlimited?

Most leaders have one of four style aspects (Vigilance, Command, Aggression or Cunning) plus Heroism or Villainy, which makes eight leader pairings. As of October 2026, 99 of the 108 leaders in the six Premier-legal sets are one of those eight, and the other 9 have two style aspects, a doubled aspect, or a single aspect. Your base then adds a third aspect or doubles one you have.

What does Vigilance Villainy mean in Star Wars: Unlimited?

It describes a leader with the Vigilance (blue) and Villainy (black) aspects, and by extension the deck built under it. The same naming works for every pairing: Aggression Heroism is a red and white leader, Cunning Villainy a yellow and black one, and so on.

Which aspect combination has the most leaders?

As of October 2026, Cunning Heroism has the most in the Premier sets with 14, and Cunning Villainy the fewest with 11. The gap is small, and every pairing gets new leaders with each set.

Can a Star Wars: Unlimited deck have both Heroism and Villainy?

Not from a Premier-legal leader as of October 2026: none of the 108 has both, and bases never provide either. (Chancellor Palpatine // Darth Sidious from Twilight of the Republic, which has rotated out of Premier, prints Cunning, Heroism and Villainy.) You can still include cards of the other side by paying the aspect penalty, and a few leaders, such as Anakin Skywalker, Tempted by the Dark Side, ignore it on some of them.
