Aggression Heroism (Red-White) in Star Wars: Unlimited

Aggression Heroism attacks. Its leaders deal damage when your units attack, protect units that hit the base and turn your own resources into damage, and its decks aim to finish before the opponent's expensive cards matter.

Aggression Heroism means a leader with the Aggression (red) and Heroism (white) aspects. Rebel and Jedi aggression: efficient attackers, direct damage, and leaders who reward attacking every round.

Also called Red Heroism or red-white. As of October 2026, 12 of the 108 leaders in the six Premier-legal sets have exactly these two aspects.

How Aggression Heroism Plays

Aggression is the damage aspect: about 36% of its cards deal damage directly, and its units have the highest power for their cost. Heroism adds the Rebels, the Resistance, the Jedi and the Republic.

The leaders reward attacking. Luke Skywalker, Hero of Yavin deals 1 damage to a unit if you attacked with a Fighter this phase, and as a pilot on a Fighter he deals 3. Kit Fisto deals 2 damage to a unit after a Jedi attacks. Cassian Andor, Climb! makes your units that damaged the opponent's base this phase unattackable (a Sentinel still can be attacked). Chewbacca, Hero of Kessel defeats one of your own resources to deal 2 damage and make a Credit token.

The usual plan is to put early damage on the base and use direct damage to clear the units in the way. A long game favors most opponents, so the deck counts its damage from the first round.

How aspects and the aspect penalty work →

What It Does Well, and What It Doesn't

Strengths

  • Fast pressure on the opposing base, starting with cheap, efficient units.
  • Direct damage removes blockers and Sentinels without spending an attack.
  • Leaders that turn each attack into extra damage or extra cards.

Weaknesses

  • Runs short of cards if Sentinels and healing blunt the first push.
  • Damage struggles against high-HP units and Shield tokens.
  • Villainy cards cost at least 2 more, which shuts out the dark side's damage and removal at printed cost.

Aggression Heroism Leaders

Four leaders that show what the pairing does, not a ranking. Each has exactly the Aggression and Heroism aspects; the leader's front is shown, and its card page has the deployed side.

  • Luke Skywalker, Hero of Yavin: Deals 1 damage to a unit if you attacked with a Fighter this phase. Deployed as a pilot on a Fighter, it gains 'On Attack: You may deal 3 damage to a unit', and that upgrade can't be defeated by enemy card abilities.
  • Kit Fisto, Focused Jedi Master: For 1 resource, deals 2 damage to a unit if you attacked with a Jedi this phase. Deployed, he has Saboteur and gets +1/+0 for each other friendly Jedi.
  • Cassian Andor, Climb!: Friendly units that damaged an opponent's base this phase can't be attacked unless they have Sentinel. Deployed, he is a 6/2 with Overwhelm who isn't defeated by having no remaining HP while you have the initiative.
  • Chewbacca, Hero of Kessel: For 1 resource and defeating a friendly resource, deals 2 damage to a unit and creates a Credit token. His Epic Action deploys him for 4 resources instead of a resource count.

Signature Cards

Cards printed in exactly these two aspects, so any Aggression Heroism leader plays them at printed cost whatever the base.

  • Chopper, War Hero: When he deals combat damage to a base, each player discards a card from their hand.
  • Ben Solo, Facing the Light: A 9-cost 8/8 with Hidden. When played and when defeated, he readies another friendly unit, and that unit can't be attacked this phase.
  • Profundity, We Fight!: A 9-cost 8/9 with Overwhelm. When played and when defeated, a player you choose discards a card, and a second if they still have more cards in hand than you.

Choosing a Base

Your base adds one aspect icon to the two on your leader. A base of another aspect gives the deck a third aspect; a Aggression base gives it a second Aggression icon instead. The third column counts the cards each choice plays at printed cost, out of the 1,409 non-leader, non-base cards in the Premier sets as of October 2026 (a reprint counted once).

Base aspectYour deck's aspectsCards at printed costWhat it adds
Vigilance (blue)Aggression, Vigilance and Heroism529Sentinel units, Shield tokens, healing and removal that defeats units
Command (green)Aggression, Command and Heroism538The most units, Experience tokens, Overwhelm and resource effects
Aggression (red)Two Aggression icons and Heroism315A second Aggression icon, for the 4 double-Aggression cards
Cunning (yellow)Aggression, Cunning and Heroism537Ambush and Hidden units, the most events, and exhausting and bouncing units

An aggressive deck chooses its base for how long it can keep attacking. Command adds more and bigger units to keep the pressure going; Cunning adds Ambush units and exhaust effects that clear the way for an attack; Vigilance adds healing for a deck that expects a fight back. An Aggression base gives up about 220 cards for Aggression's double-icon units, such as Maul (Only Revenge Remains), a 4-cost 6/6.

Only 4 cards in the Premier sets print two Aggression icons, such as Maul, Only Revenge Remains and Paz Vizsla, Unyielding Warrior. That is why a doubled base is the exception. Every Villainy card costs at least 2 more whichever base you pick, since bases never provide Heroism or Villainy.

Is Aggression Heroism good for new players?

Often, because its plan is easy to follow: play efficient units, attack, and use damage to remove what gets in the way. The skill is in knowing when to attack a unit instead of the base, which every aggressive deck has to learn.
