Héctor Rivera: Marigold Encore
An Amber and Ruby song deck for Core Constructed where cheap Singers play your songs for free and Héctor Rivera digs up the next one. A 60-card Amber and Ruby deck built from singles, $45.51 for every card.
Héctor Rivera - Worldwide Sensation is a 6-cost Ruby Legendary from Hyperia City with Shift 4, so he usually arrives on turn 4 on top of Héctor Rivera - Street Musician or Héctor Rivera - Gone to Pieces. Whenever he quests, and the first time each turn he sings a song, you look at the top 3 cards of your deck, may reveal a song and put it into your hand, and the rest go to your discard.
The plan is to sing, not pay. Héctor's Street Musician and Gone to Pieces versions, Peg, Gazelle, Max Goof, Meilin Lee, Goofy - Dancing Superstar and Powerline are Singers, so most of the songs here cost no ink and your ink goes into characters instead. Songs in your discard switch on Miguel Rivera - Street Musician and Héctor Rivera - Gone to Pieces, and Worldwide Sensation and Though I Have to Say Goodbye help put them there. Aurora - Delightful Musician returns a cheap song you played that turn and gains 1 lore at the end of any turn you played one. The best line in the deck is singing Akood et Emuti, then playing Aurora to put it back in your hand and sing it again next turn. Lady Tremaine and Ursula's Shell Necklace draw off your songs, and Akood et Emuti draws a card and makes your next character 2 cheaper. Late in the game Powerline - Megastar quests for 1 more lore for each of your other Singers, and A Pirate's Life and Remember Me take the whole band to sing.
Singing a song exerts the Singer, so a character that sings this turn can't also quest this turn, and the other way around. That is why Worldwide Sensation usually digs once a turn, not twice. It is also why Aurora goes after the song: sing a song that costs 3 or less first, then play her to bring it back. Shift helps here too: Worldwide Sensation shifted onto a Héctor who was already in play can quest or sing the turn he lands.
