Mega Rayquaza ex: Emerald Storm

A Standard deck built around Delta Reign's Mega Rayquaza ex: load Fire Energy onto a Bench of Ethan's Ho-Oh ex, and Storm Emerald does 50 damage for every Fire and Lightning Energy on all of your Pokémon. A 60-card Colorless, Fire and Lightning deck built from singles, $48.41 for every card.

Mega Rayquaza ex is Delta Reign's headline card, and it is a Basic Pokémon with 280 HP: no Evolution to wait for. Its attack, Storm Emerald, costs a Fire, a Lightning and one more Energy, and does 50 damage for each Fire and Lightning Energy attached to all of your Pokémon, not only to Rayquaza. Like every Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, it gives up three Prize cards when it is Knocked Out.

The plan is to fill your Bench with Energy. Each Ethan's Ho-Oh ex in play can attach two Basic Fire Energy from your hand to a Benched Ethan's Pokémon once a turn, Crispin attaches one more, and Rayquaza's Ruler's Roar can attach one from the top of your deck when you bench it. Two Ho-Oh with two Fire each, plus a Rayquaza with two Fire and a Lightning, is seven Energy, or 350 damage. Adventure Lantern and Crispin find the Fire and Lightning, Cyrano finds three Pokémon ex at once, Electabuzz and Magmar are cheap Basics that bench Pokémon or find Energy on the first turn, and Energy Switch moves what Rayquaza needs to attack. Mega Kangaskhan ex draws two cards a turn from the Active Spot, and Talonflame ex jumps onto your Bench from your hand for free and attacks for 150 while it searches out two cards.

The rule people get wrong is Golden Flame. It only attaches to a Benched Ethan's Pokémon, so it can't power Rayquaza itself. It doesn't need to: Storm Emerald counts the Energy on your Bench too. Ruler's Roar is the other one, because it only works when you play Rayquaza from your hand onto your Bench, never when it starts the game in play. Delta Reign cards are legal at Standard tournaments from November 20, 2026, the second Friday after the set's release.

Every card is priced at the printing in this list at TCGplayer's market price as of November 3, 2026. Several Pokémon cards share a name, so this deck has no one-click cart: a cart filled by name would pick up the wrong cards. Tap a card below for that exact printing and its price.

These prices don't include shipping. They are card prices only, and TCGplayer adds shipping for each seller in your cart, so the total at checkout will be higher. Card prices also move with demand. For the best experience, check your local game store first: you can see the cards before you buy, skip the shipping, and support the place you play.
