Star Wars: Unlimited
The release date, the products and what they cost, what's in a pack, every Icons card in our catalog so far, and which reprints come back to Premier.
Icons 2027 Edition is a 194-card Star Wars: Unlimited mini-set that releases on November 20, 2026. It is sold as 9-card booster packs, a 24-pack display ($95.99 at the publisher's store), a booster 4-pack and a $34.99 Starter Box, and its cards are legal in Premier from launch until March 2028. It is built first for new and returning players: every Common is a reprint, the new cards use the game's standard keywords, and the packs cost less than a main set's.
Fantasy Flight calls it a miniature fourth set in the yearly cycle, after the three main expansions. A main set runs past 250 cards; Icons has 194. The publisher says the new cards are as strong as a standard set's, which is the main difference from Intro Battle: Hoth, a 2025 starter whose cards traded competitive strength for a first game that is easy to follow.
Facts on this page come from the publisher's product page and its "Icons 2027 First Look" article, and prices from its US store, all read on November 2, 2026. The card list comes from TurnZero HQ's catalog on the same day.
Icons comes in four products. Prices are the publisher's US store (store.asmodee.com) on November 2, 2026, where each was listed as sold out; stores set their own prices, and a new set often sells above list for its first weeks.
| Product | What's inside | List price |
|---|---|---|
| Icons Booster Display | 24 booster packs of 9 cards | $95.99 (about $4.00 a pack) |
| Icons Booster 4-Pack | 4 boosters and an alternate-art Cassian Andor found only here | A dollar less than four loose packs |

For comparison, a Homeworlds booster display lists at $119.76 for 24 packs, about $4.99 a pack, so an Icons pack is roughly a dollar cheaper and has fewer cards in it. There are no Spotlight Decks and no Carbonite Edition packs for Icons.
Each pack has 9 cards. The publisher gives the slots as:
| Slot | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Commons | 3 Commons |
| Leader slot | A leader about 1 pack in 4, a fourth Common otherwise |
| Hyperspace | 1 Hyperspace Common |
| Uncommons | 2 Uncommons, each of which can upgrade to a Hyperspace Uncommon, a Rare or a Legendary |
| Rare | 1 Rare or Legendary |
| Foil | 1 Hyperspace Foil of any rarity |
The difference from a main-set pack that matters most is the leader. Every main-set pack has one; an Icons pack has one about a quarter of the time, and no base is guaranteed either. If you want a specific Icons leader, buying the single will usually cost less than opening packs for it. The publisher also says Icons packs are not made for draft or sealed, so don't expect a sealed event built on them.
Yes, from the day it releases. The publisher says Icons cards, reprints included, are Premier-legal at launch and rotate out with A Lawless Time, Ashes of the Empire and Homeworlds in March 2028. Like every released card, they are also legal in Eternal.
The reprints are the part Premier players should read closely. Rotation goes by the card, not the printing: a card with the same title and subtitle as a card in a legal set is legal in every printing. So when Icons reprints a card that last appeared in Spark of Rebellion, Shadows of the Galaxy or Twilight of the Republic, the 2024 sets that rotated out in March 2026, the copies you already own become Premier-legal again. In the catalog so far that is 20 cards, listed in the reprint section below, among them Grogu, Irresistible, I Am Your Father and R2-D2, Ignoring Protocol.
For 11 more reprints, the only legal printing until now was in Jump to Lightspeed, Legends of the Force or Secrets of Power, the 2025 sets expected to rotate next, in early 2027 (the publisher had not dated it when we checked). Their Icons printing keeps those cards legal until March 2028. The Premier format guide has the full legal set list and the suspended list.
TurnZero HQ's catalog held 57 of the 194 Icons cards on November 2, 2026, plus Experience and Shield tokens. That is a partial list, and the names and text below are the catalog's pre-release entries, which can change before the cards are printed. Of the 57, 40 are reprints and 17 are new.
Two of the eight leaders are in the catalog so far: Darth Vader and Leia, the same two characters who lead the Starter Box decks. Like every leader, they print landscape and flip when they deploy.
Darth Vader, No One to Stop Us
Icons 2027 #001
Vigilance and Villainy. Pay 1 and defeat a friendly unit to draw and heal 2. Deploys at 7.
Princess Leia, On a Diplomatic Mission
Icons 2027 #008
Cunning and Heroism. Pay 1 to draw, then put a card back on top or bottom. Deploys at 6.
The new cards lean on old keywords. A few to know:
Darth Sidious, Move Against the Jedi
Icons 2027 #026
Healing your base hurts an enemy unit, and he has Restore 3.
Captain Rex, Unwavering Belief
Icons 2027 #041
A 7/5 with Sentinel, Shielded and Restore 3.
Grand Admiral Thrawn, Listen to Me Carefully
Icons 2027 #024
Experience and Sentinel three times over.
Boba Fett, Compensated if He Dies
Icons 2027 #146
Readies 2 resources when his attack defeats the defender.
Every new card in the catalog so far, with its rarity and aspects:
| Card | Rarity | Aspects | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Darth Vader, No One to Stop Us | Leader | Vigilance, Villainy | Exhaust, pay 1 and defeat a friendly unit to draw a card and heal 2 from your base. Deploys at 7 resources. |
| Princess Leia, On a Diplomatic Mission | Leader | Cunning, Heroism | Exhaust and pay 1 to draw a card, then put a card from your hand on the top or bottom of your deck. Deploys at 6. |
| Darth Sidious, Move Against the Jedi | Rare | Vigilance, Villainy | 7-cost 5/8 with Restore 3. Healing your base deals that much damage to an enemy unit. |
| Captain Rex, Unwavering Belief | Rare | Vigilance, Heroism | 7-cost 7/5 with Sentinel, Shielded and Restore 3. |
| Grand Admiral Thrawn, Listen to Me Carefully | Rare | Vigilance, Villainy | 6-cost 4/4 Sentinel. When played, on attack and when defeated, gives another friendly unit an Experience token and Sentinel for the phase. |
| Boba Fett, Compensated if He Dies | Rare | Cunning, Villainy | 5-cost 4/7. Readies 2 resources after an attack that defeats the defender. |
| Grand Inquisitor, How the Mighty Will Fall | Rare | Aggression, Villainy | 4-cost 3/6 that gains Raid 3 and Saboteur while damaged. |
| Admiral Holdo, We Are the Spark | Rare | Vigilance, Heroism | 5-cost 3/7. You draw one more card in the regroup phase. |
| Avar Kriss, For Light and Life | Rare | Command, Heroism | 2-cost 0/5 with Raid 1, plus Raid 1 for each other friendly unit. |
| Jar Jar Binks, Bumbling Representative | Rare | Heroism | 2-cost 1/5. On attack, discards the top card of your deck and gets +4/+0 if that card costs 6 or more. |
| Moff Gideon, Cold Calling | Uncommon | Vigilance, Villainy | 5-cost 3/6 that costs 2 less if a friendly unit was defeated this phase. |
| Qui-Gon Jinn, Unwavering Belief | Uncommon | Command, Heroism | 5-cost 5/5 Sentinel that gives another friendly unit +2/+2 for the phase. |
| Red Leader, Wait For My Signal | Uncommon | Command, Heroism | 3-cost 2/4 space unit with Sentinel and Restore 2. |
| Commander Pyre, Golden Menace | Uncommon | Aggression, Villainy | 2-cost 3/3 with Saboteur. |
| Eighth Brother, Ill-Fated Escape | Uncommon | Aggression, Villainy | 2-cost 3/1. When defeated, you may ready an Imperial unit. |
| I've Got A Bad Feeling | Uncommon | Cunning, Heroism | 4-cost event: return a non-leader unit to hand and give a friendly unit a Shield. |
| Cunning Ploy | Uncommon | Cunning, Cunning | 4-cost event: look at an opponent's hand and make them swap a card, exhaust an enemy unit, then attack with +3/+0. |
The catalog lists 18 of the 57 at Special rarity, the rarity every Intro Battle: Hoth card carries. They are both leaders, the four bases and twelve units, eight of them first printed in Hoth. That fits the Starter Box decks, but Fantasy Flight has not published the Starter Box's card list, so which Icons cards come only in the box isn't confirmed. The rest of the catalog's rarities: 16 Common, 15 Uncommon, 8 Rare and no Legendary yet.
None of the reprints is expensive in its first printing. The priciest is Luke Skywalker, Do You Read Me? from Intro Battle: Hoth at $1.26, then R2-D2, Ignoring Protocol at $1.08. So Icons won't bring down the price of anything you were saving up for. What the reprints change is legality, and for some cards the art. Prices are each first printing's TCGplayer market price on November 1, 2026, from TurnZero HQ's catalog.
These 20 had been printed only in the rotated 2024 sets and their promos, so Icons makes them Premier-legal again:

These 20 were already Premier-legal through a 2025 set or Intro Battle: Hoth:
The tables check every printing in TurnZero HQ's catalog. Before you build a Premier deck around one of these, check the card on the publisher's own card database: if we missed a reprint in a legal set, that card was already legal and isn't returning.
New players get the most from it. The Starter Box teaches two people the game with decks that hold up afterward, then hands each of you a booster to start customizing. The 30-card decks are for learning; a Premier deck needs at least 50 cards, one leader and one base, so expect to add cards before your first event. How to play Star Wars: Unlimited covers the rules, and how to build a deck covers the step from 30 cards to 50.
Returning players who stopped at rotation get some of their old cards back in Premier, as the table above shows, and a cheaper pack to rebuild a collection with.
Premier players should buy singles. Packs give a leader only about one time in four, and what an Icons rare is worth to your deck depends on whether it beats what the main sets already give your aspects. Wait for real prices after release before buying in.
Collectors get the least. Icons has Hyperspace and Hyperspace Foil versions in packs, but no Showcase, Prestige or Carbonite versions, which is where Star Wars: Unlimited's chase money usually sits. The 4-pack's alternate-art Cassian Andor is the one product exclusive. If you are tracking a set from 1 to 194, you can add Icons cards by set code and number in the TurnZero HQ collection tracker, which counts set completion and prices each printing daily from TCGplayer once the cards are listed.
How it compares with the other ways in:
| Product | List price | Good for | Premier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Icons Starter Box | $34.99 | Two people learning with cards that stay useful, plus 2 boosters | Legal |
| Intro Battle: Hoth | $19.99 | The cheapest two-player start; simpler cards made for learning, and 20 HP bases | Legal |
| Icons booster display | $95.99 for 24 packs | Building decks and a binder cheaply; a leader in about 1 pack in 4 | Legal |
| Homeworlds booster display | $119.76 for 24 packs | A leader in every pack, and the Showcase and Prestige chase | Legal |
| 2026 Twin Suns decks | Sold as four decks | Multiplayer Twin Suns; their new cards are not legal in Premier | Not legal |
November 20, 2026. It is a mini-set of 194 cards, sold as 9-card booster packs, a 24-pack booster display, a booster 4-pack and a Starter Box.
Yes, from launch. The publisher says every Icons card, reprints included, is Premier-legal on release and stays legal until it rotates with A Lawless Time, Ashes of the Empire and Homeworlds in March 2028.
Nine: three Commons, a slot that is a leader about one time in four and a Common otherwise, a Hyperspace Common, two Uncommons that can upgrade, one Rare or Legendary, and one Hyperspace Foil of any rarity. A pack is not guaranteed a leader or a base.
Partly. Every Common is a reprint and so are some Uncommons, Grogu, Irresistible and Savage Opress, Monster among them. The other Uncommons, every Rare and Legendary, and all eight leaders are new. Of the 57 Icons cards in TurnZero HQ's catalog on November 2, 2026, 40 are reprints.
For two people learning together, yes. At $34.99 it holds two 30-card decks led by Darth Vader and Leia, packs that walk you through deckbuilding, and two Icons boosters, and the publisher says its cards are as strong as a regular set's. Intro Battle: Hoth costs $19.99, but its cards were made simpler for learning rather than for competing.
The publisher says Icons packs are not designed for draft or sealed play. They are made for building decks and collecting.
