Pokémon TCG · 2022 Set Guide
A set of Hisuian Pokémon from Pokémon Legends: Arceus, with Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR, the first Radiant Pokémon and a Trainer Gallery. The alternate full-art Machamp V leads its value.
Astral Radiance is the tenth Sword & Shield expansion: 189 cards up to the printed total and 27 secret rares above it (190 to 216).
Many of its Pokémon are Hisuian forms, Hisuian Decidueye, Typhlosion and Samurott VSTAR among them, and its Supporters are characters from Hisui such as Irida, Adaman and Cyllene. It introduced Radiant Pokémon, one per deck: Radiant Heatran, Radiant Greninja and Radiant Hawlucha. Its Trainer Gallery is a 30-card companion list, numbered TG01 to TG30 and filed under its own catalog code, of Pokémon pictured with their Trainers and full-art Pokémon V and VMAX.
Astral Radiance has 216 cards. Every card shows its number over the printed total along the bottom, as in "001/189", next to the set code ASR.
The printed total is 189, so the 27 cards from 190 to 216 are secret rares. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. How set completion works →
A Pokémon VSTAR evolves from a Pokémon V and gives up two Prize cards when Knocked Out. Each has a VSTAR Power, an attack or Ability you can use only once in a game across all your VSTAR Powers. Three of this set's:
Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR
Astral Radiance #40
280 HP VSTAR. Star Portal, its VSTAR Power, attaches up to 3 Water Energy from your discard pile to your Water Pokémon. Subspace Swell does 60 plus 20 for each Benched Pokémon.
Hisuian Decidueye VSTAR
Astral Radiance #84
270 HP VSTAR. Star of Fortune, its VSTAR Power, draws until you have 8 cards in hand.
Hisuian Typhlosion VSTAR
Astral Radiance #54
260 HP VSTAR. Hollow Flame does 180 and puts 3 damage counters on your opponent's Benched Pokémon in any way you like.
Two Trainers from the set:

These are each card's headline TCGplayer market price on October 22, 2026. Prices can move a long way, most of all in a set's first months, so treat them as a snapshot. Each card's page shows today's price for every variant and its 90-day chart. How Pokémon card prices work →
One copy of every card in Astral Radiance, bought as singles, cost $886.74 on October 22, 2026, and its Trainer Gallery $385.01 more. Together that is the 8th most expensive of the seventeen sets in the Sword & Shield series.
The three most valuable cards, Machamp V, Origin Forme Palkia V and Beedrill V, come to $351.53, or 40% of the total. Without them the set costs $535.21. Of the 216 cards, 157 were under $2.00, together $59.47; the other 59 add up to $827.27.
The Trainer Gallery's 30 cards are priced separately, and 53% of their $385.01 is in its top three cards, Starmie V, Garchomp V and Zacian V.
Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil where both exist, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.
Astral Radiance cards carry the E and F regulation marks, and Standard has allowed only H, I and J since April 10, 2026, so none is Standard-legal as printed. Astral Radiance is legal in Expanded, which takes every set from Black & White on, except for Flapple (TG02/TG30), on the Expanded banned list.
A reprint with a legal mark makes older printings of the same card legal again, so check a card's name before you rule it out.
May 27, 2022. Its set code is ASR, shared with the Trainer Gallery.
216. The printed total is 189, and the 27 cards numbered above it are secret rares. The Trainer Gallery adds 30 more.
