Pokémon TCG · 2022 Set Guide
The set built around the Lost Zone, with Giratina VSTAR, Colress's Experiment and a Trainer Gallery. Its alternate full-art Giratina V is worth four times the next card.
Lost Origin is the eleventh Sword & Shield expansion: 196 cards up to the printed total and 21 secret rares above it (197 to 217). Every card carries the F regulation mark.
Its theme is the Lost Zone, where cards go out of the game for good. Colress's Experiment puts cards there, Giratina VSTAR's Lost Impact sends Energy there, and Giratina VSTAR's Star Requiem and Fantina need 10 or more cards in it. Its Trainer Gallery is a 30-card companion list, numbered TG01 to TG30 and filed under its own catalog code, of Pokémon pictured with their Trainers and full-art Pokémon V and VMAX.
Lost Origin has 217 cards. Every card shows its number over the printed total along the bottom, as in "001/196", next to the set code LOR.
The printed total is 196, so the 21 cards from 197 to 217 are secret rares. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. How set completion works →
A Pokémon VSTAR evolves from a Pokémon V and gives up two Prize cards when Knocked Out. Each has a VSTAR Power, an attack or Ability you can use only once in a game across all your VSTAR Powers. Three of this set's:
Giratina VSTAR
Lost Origin #131
280 HP VSTAR. Lost Impact does 280 and puts 2 Energy from your Pokémon in the Lost Zone. Star Requiem Knocks Out your opponent's Active Pokémon if you have 10 or more cards in the Lost Zone.
Drapion VSTAR
Lost Origin #119
270 HP VSTAR. Hazard Star, its VSTAR Power, Paralyzes and Poisons your opponent's Active Pokémon, with 3 damage counters a Checkup.
Kyurem VMAX
Lost Origin #49
330 HP VMAX. Glaciated World: once during your turn, discard the top card of your deck; if it is a Water Energy, attach it.

These are each card's headline TCGplayer market price on October 22, 2026. Prices can move a long way, most of all in a set's first months, so treat them as a snapshot. Each card's page shows today's price for every variant and its 90-day chart. How Pokémon card prices work →
One copy of every card in Lost Origin, bought as singles, cost $1,379.25 on October 22, 2026, and its Trainer Gallery $541.03 more. Together that is the fifth most expensive of the seventeen sets in the Sword & Shield series.
The three most valuable cards, Giratina V, Aerodactyl V and Rotom V, come to $1,085.24, or 79% of the total. Without them the set costs $294.01. Of the 217 cards, 175 were under $2.00, together $57.91; the other 42 add up to $1,321.34.
The Trainer Gallery's 30 cards are priced separately, and 47% of their $541.03 is in its top three cards, Pikachu V, Pikachu VMAX and Gengar.
Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil where both exist, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.
Lost Origin cards carry the F regulation mark, and Standard has allowed only H, I and J since April 10, 2026, so none is Standard-legal as printed. Every card in Lost Origin is legal in Expanded, which takes every set from Black & White on.
A reprint with a legal mark makes older printings of the same card legal again, so check a card's name before you rule it out.
