Five White Flare chase cards fanned out: Keldeo ex, Victini, the Reshiram ex Black White Rare in front, Reshiram ex Special Illustration Rare and Hydreigon ex.

Companion set Black Bolt
Complete set as singles $3,050.55 on Sep 30

White Flare is Black Bolt's companion, released the same day and built the same way: an 86-card main set and 87 cards above it, 69 of them Illustration Rares. Reshiram ex is its legendary, against Black Bolt's Zekrom ex.

It leans dark and fiery. Darkness is its biggest type with 27 cards, Fire next with 23, and its Supporters are the Unova trainers Hilda, Cheren and Harlequin.

Cards and rarities

White Flare has 173 cards. Every card shows its number over the printed total along the bottom, as in "001/086", next to the set code WHT.

The printed total is 86, so the 87 cards from 087 to 173 are secret rares, more than half the set. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. As in Black Bolt, White Flare's most valuable card is a secret Victini, 172/086, at $559.27 on September 30, 2026. The catalog lists its rarity as Rare; its number, far above the printed 86, is what makes it a secret. Unlike Black Bolt, White Flare prints no regular Victini.

The Black White Rare Reshiram ex (173/086) was second at $482.35, about $77 behind, and the Reshiram ex Special Illustration Rare third at $189.78.

Both secret Victini cards and the Black White Rare Reshiram ex credit 5ban Graphics as illustrator.

Only the exact version is worth its price. The number at the bottom of the card and the rarity symbol beside it tell you which one you pulled. Reading the number and rarity symbol →

What a complete set costs

One copy of every card in White Flare, bought as singles, cost $3,050.55 on September 30, 2026. That is the third most expensive of the seven sets released in 2025.

Complete set $3,050.55
Main set, 001 to 086 $14.50
87 secret rares $3,036.05
Top three cards $1,231.40 (40%)

The three most valuable cards, Victini, Reshiram ex and Reshiram ex, come to $1,231.40, or 40% of the total. Without them the set costs $1,819.15. Of the 173 cards, 92 were under $2.00, together $20.56; the other 81 add up to $3,029.99.

Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil where both exist, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.

Playing it

Every White Flare card carries the I regulation mark, legal in Standard under the April 10, 2026 rotation.

Hydreigon ex's Greedy Eater makes Basic Pokémon expensive to leave Active against it: a Knock Out on one takes an extra Prize card.
