Fury and Calm in Riftbound

Fury and Calm puts Riftbound's most aggressive domain next to its most defensive one. It has one Legend as of October 2026, Akali, and plays as an attacking deck that can protect what it commits.

Fury and Calm is Fury (red) with Calm (green). Fury's attackers with Calm's protection, led by a single Legend, Akali. As of October 2026 it has 1 Legend: Akali, Rogue Assassin.

How Fury and Calm plays

The two domains cover each other's gaps. Fury brings units that attack early and removal that deals damage, and Calm brings the tricks that keep those units alive: Shield, Tank, Deflect and counterspells such as Defy. Calm on its own struggles to go on the offensive, which is the part Fury supplies.

Akali, Rogue Assassin is built for that. On your turn, her action moves a friendly unit out of a showdown to your base, and once she is Empowered it readies that unit too, so you can attack, see how the fight is going, and pull your unit back before it dies. Her Signature spell, Shuriken Flip, deals 2 to an enemy unit and then moves one of yours, and its Flow cost lets you cast it a second time from your trash.

What it does well, and what it doesn't

Strengths

  • Attacks early with Fury's units and protects them with Calm's combat tricks and counters.
  • Akali can save a unit from a combat that is going badly and leave it ready to act again.
  • Two flexible kinds of interaction: damage from Fury and counterspells from Calm.

Weaknesses

  • Little card draw. Neither domain is built around it, so long games can leave the deck short of cards.
  • Fury has few ways to kill a unit outright, and Calm's answers mostly need units of its own on the board.
  • One Legend as of October 2026, so every Fury and Calm deck is an Akali deck.

These start from what Riot's Deckbuilding Primer says each domain is good and bad at, which the guide to Riftbound's domains covers in full. A pair's Legend can shift them: a Legend that draws cards helps a pair whose domains don't.

The Fury and CalmLegend

As of October 2026, one Legend has exactly these two domains. Its ability is part of every game you play with the deck, so it shapes the pair more than any other card.

Every Riftbound Legend lists all of them by domain pair, with each one's ability and price.

Fury and Calm Signature cards

Every two-domain Fury and Calm card printed so far is a Signature card. Each carries one champion's tag, so it only goes in a deck whose Legend has that tag, and a deck can hold at most 3 Signature cards in total. Riftbound Signature cards explains the rule.

Cards from each domain

Most of a Fury and Calm deck is single-domain cards, from either half. These show what each half brings: the first two are Fury, the last two Calm.

Building a Fury and Calm deck

Start with the Legend, since it decides the plan, then fill the main deck from both domains and split your 12 runes between Fury and Calm. A reasonable starting point is to count the Fury and Calm symbols in your costs and give more runes to the domain with more of them.

The guide to building a Riftbound deck covers the full rules. TurnZero HQ's Deck Lab marks a deck Not legal if a card or rune is outside your Legend's domains, and the decks players have published are at Riftbound decks, searchable by deck name or by a card in the deck.
