Pokémon TCG · 2019 Set Guide
The last Sun & Moon set and the biggest, with 271 cards: three-Pokémon TAG TEAMs, TAG TEAM Supporters and a long run of secret rares. The alternate full-art Arceus & Dialga & Palkia-GX leads it.
Cosmic Eclipse closed the Sun & Moon series in November 2019 with 236 cards up to the printed total and 35 secret rares above it (237 to 271): twelve regular Pokémon printed as secret rares, Pikachu (241) among them, fourteen Rainbow Rares and nine secret-rare Trainers and Energy.
It added TAG TEAM Pokémon-GX with three Pokémon, such as Arceus & Dialga & Palkia-GX and Togepi & Cleffa & Igglybuff-GX, and TAG TEAM Supporters like Cynthia & Caitlin and Red & Blue. Its value is spread across many cards: its top three make up less than a quarter of the set's cost.
Cosmic Eclipse has 271 cards. Every card shows its number over the printed total along the bottom, as in "1/236", next to the set code CEC.
The printed total is 236, so the 35 cards from 237 to 271 are secret rares. The catalog also files one more card under this set with a letter after the number: Togepi & Cleffa & Igglybuff-GX (143a). It is an alternate printing outside the numbered set, so it isn't counted here. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. TAG TEAM Pokémon-GX are Basic Pokémon with two or three Pokémon on one card; each gives up three Prize cards when Knocked Out, and some GX attacks do more if you pay extra Energy. Three of this set's:

These are each card's headline TCGplayer market price on October 22, 2026. Prices can move a long way, most of all in a set's first months, so treat them as a snapshot. Each card's page shows today's price for every variant and its 90-day chart. How Pokémon card prices work →
One copy of every card in Cosmic Eclipse, bought as singles, cost $6,577.82 on October 22, 2026. That is the second most expensive of the sixteen sets in the Sun & Moon series.
The three most valuable cards, Arceus & Dialga & Palkia-GX, Blastoise & Piplup-GX and Reshiram & Zekrom-GX, come to $1,510.89, or 23% of the total. Without them the set costs $5,066.93. Of the 271 cards, 175 were under $2.00, together $70.08; the other 96 add up to $6,507.74.
Left out: one alternate printing the catalog files under this set with a letter after the number, Togepi & Cleffa & Igglybuff-GX (143a). They aren't part of the numbered 271.
Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil where both exist, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.
No Cosmic Eclipse card carries a regulation mark, so none is Standard-legal as printed. Standard has allowed only the H, I and J marks since April 10, 2026. Cosmic Eclipse is legal in Expanded, which takes every set from Black & White on, except for Duskull (83/236) and Island Challenge Amulet (194/236 and 265/236), on the Expanded banned list.
A reprint with a legal mark makes older printings of the same card legal again, so check a card's name before you rule it out.
