Hidden Fates came out in August 2019 as a special set: 68 cards up to the printed total and one secret rare above it, a Rainbow Rare Moltres & Zapdos & Articuno-GX (69). Its Pokémon are all from the Kanto region, and most of its Supporters are Kanto characters, from Brock to Sabrina.

The Shiny Vault is a 94-card companion list, numbered SV1 to SV94 and filed under its own catalog code: 45 Shiny Pokémon, 35 shiny Pokémon-GX, six full-art Supporters and eight secret rares. It is where the set's chase cards are, and the main set's two Jessie & James and Lt. Surge's Strategy are on the Expanded banned list.

Cards and rarities

Hidden Fates has 69 cards. Every card shows its number over the printed total along the bottom, as in "1/68", next to the set code HIF.

Rare Rainbow1Rainbow-foil full art, numbered above the printed total.

The printed total is 68, so only Moltres & Zapdos & Articuno-GX, 69/68, is a secret rare. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. What a complete set costs

One copy of every card in Hidden Fates, bought as singles, cost $271.77 on October 22, 2026, and its Shiny Vault $3,451.39 more. Together that is the fifth most expensive of the sixteen sets in the Sun & Moon series.

Complete set $271.77
Main set, 1 to 68 $229.75
1 secret rare $42.02
Top three cards $163.81 (60%)

The three most valuable cards, Jessie & James and two Moltres & Zapdos & Articuno-GX cards, come to $163.81, or 60% of the total. Without them the set costs $107.96. Of the 69 cards, 54 were under $2.00, together $19.14; the other 15 add up to $252.63.

The Shiny Vault's 94 cards are priced separately, and 38% of their $3,451.39 is in its top three cards, Charizard-GX, Umbreon-GX and Sylveon-GX.

Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil where both exist, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.

Playing it

No Hidden Fates card carries a regulation mark, so none is Standard-legal as printed. Standard has allowed only the H, I and J marks since April 10, 2026. Hidden Fates is legal in Expanded, which takes every set from Black & White on, except for Jessie & James (58/68 and 68/68) and Lt. Surge's Strategy (60/68), on the Expanded banned list.

A reprint with a legal mark makes older printings of the same card legal again, so check a card's name before you rule it out.
