Delta Species came out on October 31, 2005, with 114 cards: 95 Pokémon, 14 Trainers and 5 Energy. It introduced Delta Species Pokémon, marked δ, from the Holon region: a Mewtwo δ that is Fire and Metal, an Umbreon δ that is Darkness and Metal. 35 of its cards carry the δ.

Its Trainers are mostly from Holon, Holon Mentor and Holon Farmer among them, with three Holon Energy. Its Pokémon Stars are Groudon ★, Kyogre ★ and Metagross ★, numbered 111 to 113 within the printed total, and a secret Azumarill is 114.

Cards and rarities

Delta Species has 114 cards. Every card shows its number over the printed total along the bottom, as in "4/113". The cards print a set symbol, not a set code; the code here is the short one the catalog and TurnZero HQ file the set under.

Rare Holo EX3Pokémon-ex: two Prize cards when Knocked Out.
Rare Holo Star3Pokémon Star (★): one per deck.

The printed total is 113. The three Pokémon Stars are 111 to 113, inside it, and Azumarill, 114/113, is the one secret rare. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. These are each card's headline TCGplayer market price on October 22, 2026, except where a row gives an earlier day because the catalog had no newer price. What a complete set costs

One copy of every card in Delta Species, bought as singles, cost $13,125.97 on October 22, 2026. That is the fifth most expensive of the sixteen sets in the EX series.

Complete set $13,125.97
Main set, 1 to 113 $13,021.02
1 secret rare $104.95
Top three cards $7,291.98 (56%)

The three most valuable cards, Kyogre ★, Groudon ★ and Metagross ★, come to $7,291.98, or 56% of the total. Without them the set costs $5,833.99. Of the 114 cards, 41 were under $2.00, together $44.85; the other 73 add up to $13,081.12.

One card's price is older than October 22, 2026, because the catalog had no newer one: Kyogre ★ (112), $4,000.00 on October 11. It is counted at that price.

Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, usually a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil, or a stamped promo copy where the catalog prices one lower, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.

Playing it

Delta Species is not legal in Standard or Expanded as a set: Expanded starts with the Black & White series in 2011. The catalog marks four of its 114 cards as legal anyway, three of them in Standard too.

They are Great Ball, Potion and Switch, legal in both formats; and Super Scoop Up, legal in Expanded only.

Each shares its name and text with a later, legal printing, which is what makes an older copy playable. Every other card in the set is legal in neither format.
