Forbidden Light is the sixth Sun & Moon expansion: 131 cards up to the printed total and 15 secret rares above it (132 to 146).

Many of its Pokémon-GX return to the Kalos region: Greninja-GX, Zygarde-GX, Xerneas-GX and Yveltal-GX. Ultra Necrozma-GX, Naganadel-GX and Ultra Recon Squad add to the Ultra Beasts, and Mysterious Treasure searches for a Psychic or Dragon Pokémon.

Cards and rarities

Forbidden Light has 146 cards. Every card shows its number over the printed total along the bottom, as in "1/131", next to the set code FLI.

The printed total is 131, so the 15 cards from 132 to 146 are secret rares. The catalog also files four more cards under this set with a letter after the number: Alolan Exeggutor (2a), Beast Ring (102a), Metal Frying Pan (112a) and Mysterious Treasure (113a). Each is an alternate printing outside the numbered set, so they aren't counted here. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. What a complete set costs

One copy of every card in Forbidden Light, bought as singles, cost $1,369.76 on October 22, 2026. That is the 11th most expensive of the sixteen sets in the Sun & Moon series.

Complete set $1,369.76
Main set, 1 to 131 $660.91
15 secret rares $708.85
Top three cards $331.96 (24%)

The three most valuable cards, Lucario-GX, Greninja-GX and Dialga-GX, come to $331.96, or 24% of the total. Without them the set costs $1,037.80. Of the 144 cards, 94 were under $2.00, together $43.30; the other 50 add up to $1,326.46.

Two cards had no TCGplayer price on file and aren't counted: two Unit Energy FightingDarknessFairy cards.

Left out: four alternate printings the catalog files under this set with a letter after the number, Alolan Exeggutor (2a), Beast Ring (102a), Metal Frying Pan (112a) and Mysterious Treasure (113a). They aren't part of the numbered 146.

Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil where both exist, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.

Playing it

No Forbidden Light card carries a regulation mark, so none is Standard-legal as printed. Standard has allowed only the H, I and J marks since April 10, 2026. Forbidden Light is legal in Expanded, which takes every set from Black & White on, except for Flabébé (83/131), on the Expanded banned list.

A reprint with a legal mark makes older printings of the same card legal again, so check a card's name before you rule it out.
