Pokémon TCG · 2018 Set Guide
The set that introduced Prism Star cards, one of each name per deck, and its value is in its full-art Supporters: the full-art Lillie is its most valuable card, ahead of Cynthia and Lusamine.
Ultra Prism is the fifth Sun & Moon expansion: 156 cards up to the printed total and 17 secret rares above it (157 to 173).
It introduced Prism Star cards, marked with a ◇ after the name. You can have only one card of each Prism Star name in your deck, and a Prism Star card that would go to the discard pile goes to the Lost Zone instead. It has nine full-art Supporters, and three of them, Lillie, Cynthia and Lusamine, are the set's most valuable cards.
Ultra Prism has 173 cards. Every card shows its number over the printed total along the bottom, as in "1/156", next to the set code UPR.
The printed total is 156, so the 17 cards from 157 to 173 are secret rares. The catalog also files five more cards under this set with a letter after the number: Cynthia (119a), Escape Board (122a), Lillie (125a), Volkner (135a) and Lusamine (153a). Each is an alternate printing outside the numbered set, so they aren't counted here. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. These are each card's headline TCGplayer market price on October 22, 2026. Prices can move a long way, most of all in a set's first months, so treat them as a snapshot. Each card's page shows today's price for every variant and its 90-day chart. How Pokémon card prices work →
One copy of every card in Ultra Prism, bought as singles, cost $2,343.90 on October 22, 2026. That is the 7th most expensive of the sixteen sets in the Sun & Moon series.
The three most valuable cards, Lillie, Cynthia and Lusamine, come to $873.87, or 37% of the total. Without them the set costs $1,470.03. Of the 169 cards, 117 were under $2.00, together $43.02; the other 52 add up to $2,300.88.
Four cards had no TCGplayer price on file and aren't counted: two Unit Energy GrassFireWater cards and two Unit Energy LightningPsychicMetal cards.
Left out: five alternate printings the catalog files under this set with a letter after the number, Cynthia (119a), Escape Board (122a), Lillie (125a), Volkner (135a) and Lusamine (153a). They aren't part of the numbered 173.
Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil where both exist, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.
No Ultra Prism card carries a regulation mark, so none is Standard-legal as printed. Standard has allowed only the H, I and J marks since April 10, 2026. Ultra Prism is legal in Expanded, which takes every set from Black & White on, except for Oranguru (114/156), on the Expanded banned list.
A reprint with a legal mark makes older printings of the same card legal again, so check a card's name before you rule it out.
February 2, 2018. Its set code is UPR.
173. The printed total is 156, and the 17 cards numbered above it are secret rares.
A card with ◇ after its name. You can't have more than one Prism Star card with the same name in your deck, and if one would go to your discard pile, it goes to the Lost Zone instead. Ultra Prism printed the first ones.
The Rare Ultra Lillie (151/156), at $468.18 on October 22, 2026, ahead of the Rare Ultra Cynthia (148/156) at $242.83. Prices move daily, so check each card's page for the current figure.
