Aggression (Red) in Star Wars: Unlimited

Aggression is Star Wars: Unlimited's red aspect and its fastest. It deals damage directly, attacks through Sentinels with Saboteur, adds power with Raid and puts the most power on the board for the cost, so its decks try to end the game before the opponent's bigger cards matter.

Aggression is red, one of the four style aspects. Damage and speed. Direct damage, Raid and Saboteur, and the most power for the cost, aimed at ending the game early.

It comes from your leader or your base. As of October 2026, 28 of the 108 Premier leaders and 17 bases provide it.

How Aggression Plays

Aggression deals damage. About a third of its cards deal damage directly, more than twice the share of any other aspect, which means it can clear blockers, finish damaged units and hit the opponent's base without needing to win combat first. Migs Mayfeld, a 2-cost unit, deals 1 or 2 damage to the unit he attacks before combat damage.

Its keywords are about getting attacks through. Raid adds power when a unit attacks, and Saboteur lets a unit ignore Sentinel and defeats the defender's Shield tokens. Aggression has the most of both, and it is second only to Command on Overwhelm.

The usual plan is a race. Aggression wants to deal the 25 to 35 damage a base can take to the opponent's base across five or six rounds, and most of its cards are judged by how much they add to that count. At the top end, Bendu deals 3 damage to every other unit each time he attacks, and Planetary Bombardment deals 8 indirect damage to a player, or 12 if you control a Capital Ship.

What It Does Well, and What It Doesn't

Strengths

  • The most direct damage in the game, which doubles as removal and as a finish.
  • Gets around defenses: the most Raid and Saboteur, so Sentinel walls and Shield tokens slow it less than other aspects.
  • The highest power for the cost, which punishes a slow start by the opponent.

Weaknesses

  • Almost no healing, so a long game favors the opponent's sturdier units and recovery.
  • Its units have the lowest HP for their cost of the four style aspects, so they lose even trades.
  • Damage it spends clearing units is damage it doesn't deal to the base, so a deck full of Sentinels can blunt the race.

Aggression by the Numbers

Counted from the 1,409 non-leader, non-base cards in the six Premier-legal sets as of October 2026, a reprint counted once. A card with two aspects counts for both.

The most common traits on Aggression cards: Vehicles, the Underworld, Rebels and Force users, with the most Fighters, Droids and Bounty Hunters. Of the 332, 143 print only Aggression and fit any deck with a Aggression leader or base; the rest also print Heroism, Villainy or a second style aspect.

Cards That Show What Aggression Does

Each prints the Aggression icon and nothing else, so it plays at printed cost under any leader or base that provides Aggression.

4 cards in the Premier sets print two Aggression icons, such as Maul, Only Revenge Remains and Paz Vizsla, Unyielding Warrior. To play one at printed cost, your leader and base together need two Aggression icons, which usually means a Aggression base under a Aggression leader.

Aggression Leaders

A leader with Aggression almost always pairs it with Heroism or Villainy. One leader from each pairing, not a ranking; each pairing's page has more.

  • Luke Skywalker, Hero of Yavin: Deals 1 damage to a unit if you attacked with a Fighter this phase. Deployed as a pilot on a Fighter, it gains 'On Attack: You may deal 3 damage to a unit', and that upgrade can't be defeated by enemy card abilities.
  • Darth Vader, Unstoppable: Exhausts and discards a card from your hand to deal 1 damage to a unit or base. Deployed at 7 resources, he discards any number of cards on attack and deals that much damage.

Aspect Combinations With Aggression

A deck is usually named by its leader's two aspects. These are the 2 pairings that include Aggression, each with its leaders, signature cards and which base to choose.
