Pokémon TCG · 2006 Set Guide
Ten Pokémon-ex, Gold Star Alakazam and Celebi, and a Charizard δ that is Lightning and Metal.
Crystal Guardians came out on August 1, 2006, with 100 cards: 82 Pokémon, 17 Trainers and Double Rainbow Energy. Its ten Pokémon-ex include the Hoenn starters, Kyogre ex, Groudon ex and Jirachi ex, and 12 of its cards are Delta Species.
Its two Pokémon Stars, Alakazam ★ and Celebi ★, are numbered 99 and 100, inside the printed total of 100, so it has no secret rares.
Crystal Guardians has 100 cards. Every card shows its number over the printed total along the bottom, as in "4/100". The cards print a set symbol, not a set code; the code here is the short one the catalog and TurnZero HQ file the set under.
The printed total is 100 and nothing is numbered above it. The two Pokémon Stars are 99 and 100. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. Both Gold Stars and Charizard δ:
Alakazam ★
Crystal Guardians #99
One Pokémon Star per deck. Skill Copy uses an attack from a Pokémon you discard from your hand.
Celebi ★
Crystal Guardians #100
One Pokémon Star per deck. Time Travel may send it to the bottom of your deck instead of being Knocked Out.
Charizard δ
Crystal Guardians #4
Lightning and Metal. Peal of Thunder attaches Energy from your top 5 cards when it evolves; Metal Burn does 120.
A Supporter and a Stadium:
Crystal Guardians' chase card is Alakazam ★, 99/100, illustrated by Masakazu Fukuda, listed at $1,429.50 as last read on October 1, 2026.
The Charizard δ holo was $939.50 on October 22, 2026, and its Reverse Holofoil copy $1,199.99. Celebi ★ was $750.00.
Alakazam ★ is printed once in the set.
Only the exact version is worth its price. The number at the bottom of the card and the rarity symbol beside it tell you which one you pulled. Reading the number and rarity symbol →
Two Gold Stars, Charizard δ, Pokémon-ex and Blastoise δ, priced as holofoil copies. The price for Alakazam ★ (October 1) is the last the catalog read before October 22, 2026.
| Card | Rarity | Market price, October 22, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Alakazam ★ | Rare Holo Star | $1,429.50 on Oct 1 |
| Charizard δ | Rare Holo | $939.50 |
| Celebi ★ | Rare Holo Star | $750.00 |
| Kyogre ex | Rare Holo EX | $349.99 |
| Blastoise δ | Rare Holo | $260.26 |
| Swampert ex | Rare Holo EX | $255.33 |
These are each card's headline TCGplayer market price on October 22, 2026, except where a row gives an earlier day because the catalog had no newer price. Prices can move a long way, most of all in a set's first months, so treat them as a snapshot. Each card's page shows today's price for every variant and its 90-day chart. One copy of every card in Crystal Guardians, bought as singles, cost $5,581.70 on October 22, 2026. That is the 7th most expensive of the sixteen sets in the EX series.
The three most valuable cards, Alakazam ★, Charizard δ and Celebi ★, come to $3,119.00, or 56% of the total. Without them the set costs $2,462.70. Of the 100 cards, 42 were under $2.00, together $35.10; the other 58 add up to $5,546.60.
One card's price is older than October 22, 2026, because the catalog had no newer one: Alakazam ★ (99), $1,429.50 on October 1. It is counted at that price.
Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, usually a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil, or a stamped promo copy where the catalog prices one lower, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.
Crystal Guardians is not legal in Standard or Expanded as a set: Expanded starts with the Black & White series in 2011. The catalog marks four of its 100 cards as legal anyway, three of them in Standard too.
They are Energy Search, Poké Ball and Potion, legal in both formats; and Bill's Maintenance, legal in Expanded only.
Each shares its name and text with a later, legal printing, which is what makes an older copy playable. Every other card in the set is legal in neither format.
August 1, 2006. It was the 14th set of the EX series.
100, numbered 1 to 100, with no secret rares.

No. Charizard δ is a Delta Species Pokémon, Lightning and Metal type.
