Pokémon TCG · 2006 Set Guide
Nearly every Pokémon in it is Delta Species, all ten Pokémon-ex included, and its Charizard ★ is the most expensive card in this catalog from 1999 to 2011.
Dragon Frontiers came out on November 1, 2006, with 101 cards: 83 Pokémon, 12 Trainers and 6 Energy. Of the 83 Pokémon, 79 are Delta Species, and its ten Pokémon-ex, from Altaria ex δ to Tyranitar ex δ, are all Delta Species too.
Its Pokémon Stars are Charizard ★ δ and Mew ★ δ, numbered 100 and 101, inside the printed total of 101, so it has no secret rares. The Stadium Holon Legacy takes away the Weakness and Poké-Powers of every δ Pokémon in play.
Dragon Frontiers has 101 cards. Every card shows its number over the printed total along the bottom, as in "4/101". The cards print a set symbol, not a set code; the code here is the short one the catalog and TurnZero HQ file the set under.
The printed total is 101 and nothing is numbered above it. The two Pokémon Stars are 100 and 101. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. The Gold Star Charizard and two Pokémon-ex:
Charizard ★ δ
Dragon Frontiers #100
One Pokémon Star per deck. Darkness type. Dark Swirl does 150, discarding its Energy and the top 3 cards of your opponent's deck.
Salamence ex δ
Dragon Frontiers #98
Type Shift makes it Fire for the turn; Dual Stream does 80, or 40 and 40 to a Benched Pokémon.
Dragonite ex δ
Dragon Frontiers #91
Dragon Roar puts 8 damage counters on the Defending Pokémon and spreads any extra to the Bench.
A Supporter and the set's Stadium:
Dragon Frontiers' chase card is Charizard ★ δ, 100/101, illustrated by Masakazu Fukuda, listed at $39,500.00 on October 22, 2026. It is the most valuable card in any guide from Base Set to Call of Legends.
It also dominates the set's value: Salamence ex δ, the next card, was $728.30. The catalog has no price for Mew ★ δ. A figure this high rests on very few sales, so check the card's page before relying on it.
Charizard ★ δ is printed once in the set.
Only the exact version is worth its price. The number at the bottom of the card and the rarity symbol beside it tell you which one you pulled. Reading the number and rarity symbol →
Charizard ★ δ, then Delta Species Pokémon-ex and holos, priced as holofoil copies.

These are each card's headline TCGplayer market price on October 22, 2026. Prices can move a long way, most of all in a set's first months, so treat them as a snapshot. Each card's page shows today's price for every variant and its 90-day chart. How Pokémon card prices work →
One copy of every card in Dragon Frontiers, bought as singles, cost $43,572.29 on October 22, 2026. That is the most expensive of the sixteen sets in the EX series.
The three most valuable cards, Charizard ★ δ, Salamence ex δ and Dragonite ex δ, come to $40,700.22, or 93% of the total. Without them the set costs $2,872.07. Of the 100 cards, 46 were under $2.00, together $51.84; the other 54 add up to $43,520.45.
One card had no TCGplayer price on file and isn't counted: Mew ★ δ.
Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, usually a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil, or a stamped promo copy where the catalog prices one lower, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.
Dragon Frontiers is not legal in Standard or Expanded as a set: Expanded starts with the Black & White series in 2011. The catalog marks three of its 101 cards as legal anyway, one of them in Standard too.
They are Switch, legal in both formats; and Copycat and TV Reporter, legal in Expanded only.
Each shares its name and text with a later, legal printing, which is what makes an older copy playable. Every other card in the set is legal in neither format.
November 1, 2006. It was the 15th set of the EX series.
101, numbered 1 to 101, with no secret rares. 79 of its 83 Pokémon are Delta Species.
Charizard ★ δ (100/101), listed at $39,500.00 on October 22, 2026, far ahead of Salamence ex δ at $728.30. Few copies trade, so check the card's page.
It is a Charizard and a Gold Star, the top rarity of its set. The catalog listed it at $39,500.00 on October 22, 2026, the highest price of any card in these guides.
