Chaos and Order in Riftbound

Chaos and Order pairs Chaos's movement and use of the trash with Order's wide boards and kill spells. It has one Legend as of October 2026, Kennen, from Vendetta.

Chaos and Order is Chaos (purple) with Order (yellow). Order's removal with Chaos's recursion, and one Legend: Kennen. As of October 2026 it has 1 Legend: Kennen, Heart of the Tempest.

How Chaos and Order plays

Order fills Chaos's biggest gap: Chaos has trouble removing threats for good, and Order kills them outright. Chaos returns the favor with movement, which Order lacks, so this pair can put its many small units where they do the most.

Kennen's Legend, Heart of the Tempest, becomes Empowered when you play a card from anywhere other than your hand, and spends it to give a unit Assault 2. Cards with Flow, which are played a second time from the trash, are the most direct way to trigger it, and his Signature spell, Lightning Rush, has Flow itself.

What it does well, and what it doesn't

Strengths

  • Order's kill spells cover Chaos's lack of lasting removal.
  • Chaos's movement covers Order's lack of it.
  • Card selection and Flow recursion from Chaos.

Weaknesses

  • One Legend as of October 2026, so every Chaos and Order deck is a Kennen deck.
  • Order has trouble with an opponent's many small units.
  • Chaos's bonuses rarely last past the turn.

These start from what Riot's Deckbuilding Primer says each domain is good and bad at, which the guide to Riftbound's domains covers in full. A pair's Legend can shift them: a Legend that draws cards helps a pair whose domains don't.

The Chaos and OrderLegend

As of October 2026, one Legend has exactly these two domains. Its ability is part of every game you play with the deck, so it shapes the pair more than any other card.

Every Riftbound Legend lists all of them by domain pair, with each one's ability and price.

Chaos and Order Signature cards

Every two-domain Chaos and Order card printed so far is a Signature card. Each carries one champion's tag, so it only goes in a deck whose Legend has that tag, and a deck can hold at most 3 Signature cards in total. Riftbound Signature cards explains the rule.

Cards from each domain

Most of a Chaos and Order deck is single-domain cards, from either half. These show what each half brings: the first two are Chaos, the last two Order.

Building a Chaos and Order deck

Start with the Legend, since it decides the plan, then fill the main deck from both domains and split your 12 runes between Chaos and Order. A reasonable starting point is to count the Chaos and Order symbols in your costs and give more runes to the domain with more of them.

The guide to building a Riftbound deck covers the full rules. TurnZero HQ's Deck Lab marks a deck Not legal if a card or rune is outside your Legend's domains, and the decks players have published are at Riftbound decks, searchable by deck name or by a card in the deck.
