Disney Lorcana Ink Pairs
Amethyst and Ruby is one of the 15 two-ink combinations a Lorcana deck can be built in. This page covers how it plays, what it does well and badly, and the cards that show its plan, as of October 2026.
Amethyst & Ruby is the purple-red pair. Ruby's Rush and removal with Amethyst's Evasive challengers and card draw: a tempo deck that challenges early and keeps its own questers out of reach.
New to the inks? The ink colors guide covers each one, and all 15 pairs are listed side by side.
Amethyst and Ruby both carry Rush and Evasive, and Amethyst adds Challenger. The pair can play a character and challenge an exerted opposing character the same turn, then keep its own questers safe, since only Evasive characters can challenge Evasive ones.
Peter Pan & Tinker Bell - Fast Friends give all your characters Evasive, and Peter Pan's Shadow - Not Sewn On gives Evasive to your other Rush characters, so the board is hard to challenge back. Maui - Snow Slider is the plain version: a 4-cost Rush character that quests for 2.
If the early challenges don't land, the pair has few ways to stabilize. Rush characters tend to have low willpower, and neither ink has much healing or Bodyguard.
Strengths
Weaknesses
A dual-ink card counts as both of its inks, so it can only go in a deck built from exactly those two. As of October 2026, the Core-legal dual-ink cards are the 16 from Attack of the Vine! (set 13), and one of them is in Amethyst and Ruby.
These show the plan described above rather than a decklist or this month's best cards: one from Amethyst and one from Ruby. Every card on this page is from set 9 or later and legal in Core Constructed as of October 2026.
Ravensburger has sold two starter decks in Amethyst and Ruby as of October 2026. Each arrives as a legal two-ink deck, and each upgrade guide says what to cut and which cards to add.
To build your own, the Lorcana deck-building guide walks through the 60-card minimum, copies and inks, and TurnZero HQ's Deck Lab checks the list against Core Constructed or Infinity as you build. Decks other players have published are at Lorcana decks, searchable by deck name or by a card in the deck, such as Peter Pan & Tinker Bell.
If Amethyst and Ruby is close to what you want but not quite it, these keep one of its inks and change the other.
Ruby's Rush and removal with Amethyst's Evasive challengers and card draw: a tempo deck that challenges early and keeps its own questers out of reach. Which version is strongest changes with each set, so treat any list as a starting point.
As of October 2026, the Core-legal one is Peter Pan & Tinker Bell - Fast Friends, from Attack of the Vine! (set 13). A dual-ink card counts as both of its inks, so it fits only a deck built from exactly Amethyst and Ruby.
Yes, two as of October 2026: Shimmering Skies Amethyst & Ruby Starter Deck (Infinity only) and 2-Player Starter Set: Amethyst & Ruby Deck (Core legal). Each has an upgrade guide on TurnZero HQ.
Not in Core Constructed or Infinity, where a deck uses at most two inks. Format Coconut, Ravensburger's multiplayer format in open beta, allows up to three.
The Deck Lab checks your deck's inks, size and copies against Core Constructed or Infinity as you build, and you can publish it to share the link. Free on iPhone, Android and the web.
