Disney Lorcana Ink Pairs
Amethyst and Emerald is one of the 15 two-ink combinations a Lorcana deck can be built in. This page covers how it plays, what it does well and badly, and the cards that show its plan, as of October 2026.
Amethyst & Emerald is the purple-green pair. Two inks full of Evasive characters, with Amethyst's card draw and Emerald's Ward: a deck that quests where the opponent can't reach.
New to the inks? The ink colors guide covers each one, and all 15 pairs are listed side by side.
Emerald has more Evasive characters than any other ink in the Core sets, and Evasive is also one of Amethyst's most common keywords, so this pair can put out a board that only other Evasive characters can challenge. Emerald's Ward stops opponents from choosing a character except to challenge it, and Amethyst's card draw keeps the threats coming.
Aladdin & Genie - Mischievous Pals fix a hand of wrong cards: when you play them, you may put any number of cards from your hand on the bottom of your deck and draw that many plus 1. Mushu - Stealthy Dragon draws when an opponent holds more cards than you, and Hades - Looking for a Deal gives the opponent a choice when he enters: put a character you chose on the bottom of their deck, or let you draw 2 cards.
Its characters are often small, and neither ink has much healing or Bodyguard, so a deck with Evasive challengers of its own or a board wipe can wear it down.
Strengths
Weaknesses
A dual-ink card counts as both of its inks, so it can only go in a deck built from exactly those two. As of October 2026, the Core-legal dual-ink cards are the 16 from Attack of the Vine! (set 13), and one of them is in Amethyst and Emerald.
These show the plan described above rather than a decklist or this month's best cards: one from Amethyst and one from Emerald. Every card on this page is from set 9 or later and legal in Core Constructed as of October 2026.
Hades - Looking for a Deal
Whispers in the Well #56
Amethyst. When played, choose an opposing character. Its player either puts it on the bottom of their deck or lets you draw 2 cards.
Mushu - Stealthy Dragon
Attack of the Vine! #97
Emerald. Evasive for 3, and each quest may draw a card if an opponent has more cards in hand than you.
Ravensburger hasn't sold a starter deck in Amethyst and Emerald as of October 2026, so this pair starts from your own cards. The starter deck directory lists the pairs that have one, if you'd rather begin from a ready-made deck that shares an ink.
To build your own, the Lorcana deck-building guide walks through the 60-card minimum, copies and inks, and TurnZero HQ's Deck Lab checks the list against Core Constructed or Infinity as you build. Decks other players have published are at Lorcana decks, searchable by deck name or by a card in the deck, such as Aladdin & Genie.
If Amethyst and Emerald is close to what you want but not quite it, these keep one of its inks and change the other.
Two inks full of Evasive characters, with Amethyst's card draw and Emerald's Ward: a deck that quests where the opponent can't reach. Which version is strongest changes with each set, so treat any list as a starting point.
As of October 2026, the Core-legal one is Aladdin & Genie - Mischievous Pals, from Attack of the Vine! (set 13). A dual-ink card counts as both of its inks, so it fits only a deck built from exactly Amethyst and Emerald.
Not as of October 2026. Ravensburger hasn't sold a starter deck in Amethyst and Emerald, so a deck in this pair starts from your own cards. The starter deck directory lists every pair that has one.
Not in Core Constructed or Infinity, where a deck uses at most two inks. Format Coconut, Ravensburger's multiplayer format in open beta, allows up to three.
The Deck Lab checks your deck's inks, size and copies against Core Constructed or Infinity as you build, and you can publish it to share the link. Free on iPhone, Android and the web.
