Disney Lorcana Ink Pairs
Amethyst and Sapphire is one of the 15 two-ink combinations a Lorcana deck can be built in. This page covers how it plays, what it does well and badly, and the cards that show its plan, as of October 2026.
Amethyst & Sapphire is the purple-blue pair. Amethyst's card draw and exert effects with Sapphire's ramp and items: a control deck that slows the opponent and wins late with big characters.
New to the inks? The ink colors guide covers each one, and all 15 pairs are listed side by side.
Amethyst and Sapphire are the two inks most focused on cards rather than combat. Amethyst draws and exerts opposing characters; Sapphire ramps and plays items. The pair tends to play a slower game, stopping the opponent's questers for a turn and then landing expensive characters ahead of schedule.
Elsa - Spirit of Winter and Let It Go are the control half. Elsa exerts up to 2 chosen characters when she enters, and they can't ready at the start of their next turn. Let It Go puts a chosen character into its player's inkwell, which removes it but also gives the opponent an extra ink.
It is the only pair with two Core-legal dual-ink cards as of October 2026. Winnie the Pooh & Piglet - Hunny Mages get +1 lore for each different ink among your characters in play, and Christopher Robin - Hunny Sage lets your deck include other Hunny characters regardless of their ink, an exception to the two-ink rule that applies only to Hunny characters. When he enters, he can search your deck for a Hunny card.
Strengths
Weaknesses
A dual-ink card counts as both of its inks, so it can only go in a deck built from exactly those two. As of October 2026, the Core-legal dual-ink cards are the 16 from Attack of the Vine! (set 13), and two of them are in Amethyst and Sapphire.
Winnie the Pooh & Piglet - Hunny Mages
Attack of the Vine! #62
Shift 3 onto Winnie the Pooh or Piglet, and +1 lore for each different ink among your characters in play.
Christopher Robin - Hunny Sage
Attack of the Vine! #61
Lets your deck include other Hunny characters of any ink, and searches your deck for a Hunny card when played.
These show the plan described above rather than a decklist or this month's best cards: one from Amethyst and one from Sapphire. Every card on this page is from set 9 or later and legal in Core Constructed as of October 2026.
Ravensburger hasn't sold a starter deck in Amethyst and Sapphire as of October 2026, so this pair starts from your own cards. The starter deck directory lists the pairs that have one, if you'd rather begin from a ready-made deck that shares an ink.
To build your own, the Lorcana deck-building guide walks through the 60-card minimum, copies and inks, and TurnZero HQ's Deck Lab checks the list against Core Constructed or Infinity as you build. Decks other players have published are at Lorcana decks, searchable by deck name or by a card in the deck, such as Winnie the Pooh & Piglet.
If Amethyst and Sapphire is close to what you want but not quite it, these keep one of its inks and change the other.
Amethyst's card draw and exert effects with Sapphire's ramp and items: a control deck that slows the opponent and wins late with big characters. Which version is strongest changes with each set, so treat any list as a starting point.
As of October 2026, the Core-legal ones are Winnie the Pooh & Piglet - Hunny Mages and Christopher Robin - Hunny Sage, from Attack of the Vine! (set 13). A dual-ink card counts as both of its inks, so it fits only a deck built from exactly Amethyst and Sapphire.
Not as of October 2026. Ravensburger hasn't sold a starter deck in Amethyst and Sapphire, so a deck in this pair starts from your own cards. The starter deck directory lists every pair that has one.
Not in Core Constructed or Infinity, where a deck uses at most two inks. Format Coconut, Ravensburger's multiplayer format in open beta, allows up to three.
The Deck Lab checks your deck's inks, size and copies against Core Constructed or Infinity as you build, and you can publish it to share the link. Free on iPhone, Android and the web.
