Pokémon TCG
Two lists: one for somebody who is just getting into the Pokémon Trading Card Game, and one for a player or collector who already has the basics. Every gift here is listed on TCGplayer or Amazon.
Start with one question: do they already have a deck they play? If they don't, the first list is complete products that come ready to play, so you don't need to know the game to get the gift right. If they do, the second list is upgrades and collector pieces, and the best version of any of them is the one they asked for.
New Pokémon products often sell above their retail price for the first few weeks after release, and older ones can climb once they are out of print. If a listing is well above retail, a local game store may have it for less.

The best first gift for two people learning together, such as a parent and a child. It has three ready-to-play 60-card decks built around Pikachu ex, Darkrai ex and Armarouge ex, a two-player game board, damage counters, and two tutorial guides that walk new players through the decks.
For someone who wants to play at a Pokémon League or a local tournament. It's a 60-card deck designed to be played at League events as it comes, with six damage-counter dice, a coin-flip die, condition markers and a deck box. It arrives in stores on November 13, 2026, at a retail price of $29.99.
A good stocking stuffer. Pokémon damage comes in tens, and a die turned to 30 is easier to read across the table than a pile of loose counters. Battle Academy has counters in the box, so this is the add-on that makes the most sense alongside it.
Mega Evolution: Delta Reign is the newest main set, released November 6, 2026, with Mega Rayquaza ex as its headline card. An Elite Trainer Box holds booster packs along with the sleeves, dice and storage box a player uses, so it stays useful after the packs are opened.
30th Celebration is the special set for Pokémon's 30th anniversary. For a collector who keeps sealed product, it's the anniversary piece of the year.
The Vault X zip binder is the common choice: 360 cards in 20 double-sided pages with pockets that load from the side, so cards don't slide out of the top, and a zipper that keeps it closed in a bag. A collector working through a set will fill one.
Rigid 3 by 4 inch holders for the cards worth protecting most. They are inexpensive, and anyone who opens a lot of packs goes through them.
The most personal gift for a competitive player is a specific card for a deck they are building. Ask for a list rather than guessing: the same Pokémon is often printed several times, and the version they want may not be the cheapest one.
A TCGplayer gift card lets them pick the card or product themselves. It's the safe choice when you don't know whether they play, collect or both.
TCGplayer gift cards →For someone just starting, Battle Academy 2024 or the Mega Greninja ex League Battle Deck. For a player or collector who already has the basics, a Delta Reign or 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box, a 9-pocket zip binder, or a specific card they have asked for.
Battle Academy 2024. It has three ready-to-play decks, a game board and tutorial guides, so two people can learn together without buying anything else. For a kid who already knows how to play and wants to try a League, a League Battle Deck is the better choice.
Yes, for someone who already plays or collects. It has booster packs plus the sleeves, dice and storage box a player uses, so it stays useful after the packs are opened. New sets often sell above their retail price for the first few weeks, so compare prices before you buy.
Packs are fun to open, but what is inside is random. A specific card is the better gift when you know what they want, because it is guaranteed to be something they will use or keep. If you don't know, ask for a list.
Standard size, the same as Magic: The Gathering cards. Any standard sleeve fits, and a 65-pack covers a 60-card deck with a few spares.
