Pokémon TCG · 2014 Set Guide
A set of Gengar-EX and Team Flare's Gear Items, with VS Seeker and Battle Compressor among its Trainers. A secret-rare Dialga-EX is its most valuable card, ahead of the full-art Gengar-EX.
Phantom Forces is the fourth XY expansion: 119 cards up to the printed total and three secret rares above it, M Manectric-EX, M Gengar-EX and Dialga-EX (120 to 122).
It introduced Team Flare Gear and Hyper Gear. The Hyper Gear Tools, Head Ringer and Jamming Net, are attached to your opponent's Pokémon-EX; the plain Gear cards, such as Battle Compressor and Robo Substitute, are Items you play on your own side. Lysandre's Trump Card, which shuffles both discard piles back into the decks, is on the Expanded banned list.
Phantom Forces has 122 cards. Every card shows its number over the printed total along the bottom, as in "1/119", next to the set code PHF.
The printed total is 119, so the 3 cards from 120 to 122 are secret rares. The catalog also files two more cards under this set with a letter after the number: M Manectric-EX (24a) and Aegislash-EX (65a). Each is an alternate printing outside the numbered set, so they aren't counted here. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. Pokémon-EX give up two Prize cards when Knocked Out. A Mega Evolution Pokémon-EX evolves from its Pokémon-EX, and evolving into one ends your turn unless a Spirit Link Tool says otherwise:
M Gengar-EX
Phantom Forces #35
220 HP Mega Evolution. Phantom Gate uses one of your opponent's Pokémon's attacks as its own.
Gengar-EX
Phantom Forces #34
170 HP. Night Attack puts 3 damage counters on any of your opponent's Pokémon; Dark Corridor does 60, Poisons and switches it out.
Dialga-EX
Phantom Forces #62
180 HP. Full Metal Impact does 150; Chrono Wind does 60 and stops a Pokémon-EX from attacking on your opponent's next turn.
Two Items reprinted many times since:

These are each card's headline TCGplayer market price on October 22, 2026. Prices can move a long way, most of all in a set's first months, so treat them as a snapshot. Each card's page shows today's price for every variant and its 90-day chart. How Pokémon card prices work →
One copy of every card in Phantom Forces, bought as singles, cost $2,792.53 on October 22, 2026. That is the third most expensive of the fifteen sets in the XY series.
The three most valuable cards, Dialga-EX, Gengar-EX and M Gengar-EX, come to $2,279.56, or 82% of the total. Without them the set costs $512.97. Of the 117 cards, 92 were under $2.00, together $42.25; the other 25 add up to $2,750.28.
Five cards had no TCGplayer price on file and aren't counted: Battle Compressor Team Flare Gear, Head Ringer Team Flare Hyper Gear, Jamming Net Team Flare Hyper Gear, Robo Substitute Team Flare Gear and Target Whistle Team Flare Gear.
Left out: two alternate printings the catalog files under this set with a letter after the number, M Manectric-EX (24a) and Aegislash-EX (65a). They aren't part of the numbered 122.
Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil where both exist, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.
No Phantom Forces card carries a regulation mark, so none is Standard-legal as printed. Standard has allowed only the H, I and J marks since April 10, 2026. Phantom Forces is legal in Expanded, which takes every set from Black & White on, except for Lysandre's Trump Card (99/119 and 118/119), on the Expanded banned list.
A reprint with a legal mark makes older printings of the same card legal again, so check a card's name before you rule it out.
November 5, 2014. Its set code is PHF.
122. The printed total is 119, and the 3 cards numbered above it are secret rares.
The Rare Secret Dialga-EX (122/119), at $1,022.31 on October 22, 2026, ahead of the Rare Ultra Gengar-EX (114/119) at $753.67. Prices move daily, so check each card's page for the current figure.
