Blue/Yellow in the One Piece TCG

Blue/Yellow turns Yellow's Life and Trigger effects into Blue's card draw. Its Leaders draw when Life cards move or when a Trigger plays a Character on your opponent's turn.

Blue/Yellow is a deck led by a Blue/Yellow Leader, so it can play any Blue card and any Yellow card. Blue's draw powered by Yellow's Life: Leaders that draw whenever Life cards move.

As of October 2026, Bandai has printed four Blue/Yellow Leaders. Three are legal in Standard, one has rotated out with block 1.

How Blue/Yellow Plays

Nami (OP11-041) draws a card once per turn on your turn when a Life card is removed from either player, as long as you hold 7 or fewer cards, and she can trash a card on your opponent's attack for +2000. Yellow's effects move Life cards constantly, so the draw comes often.

Boa Hancock (OP14-041) draws a card whenever you play a Character on your opponent's turn, which is what Yellow's [Trigger] Characters do. With a DON!!, once per turn when one of your 5000-power Kuja Pirates or Amazon Lily Characters is K.O.'d, she takes the top card of your opponent's Life and adds it to their hand. Portgas.D.Ace (ST13-002) puts a 5-cost Character from your deck into Life face up.

What each color does on its own, counted from the card text, is in Blue and Yellow on the colors page.

What It Does Well, and What It Doesn't

Strengths

  • Draw that comes from your opponent's attacks as well as your own.
  • Triggers that play Characters also draw cards with Hancock.
  • Hancock's Life removal pressures your opponent even when your attacks are blocked.

Weaknesses

  • Limited removal: Blue returns Characters rather than K.O.ing them, and the Leaders' effects are about cards, not the board.
  • Nami's +2000 costs a card from hand each time.
  • Ace's face-up Life cards are trashed at the end of your turn.

Blue/Yellow Leaders

Your Leader is the only two-color card in a Blue/Yellow deck: every two-color card Bandai has printed is a Leader. These are the ones legal in Standard as of October 2026, with what each one asks of the deck.

Rotated out of Standard with block 1 on April 1, 2026, and still playable in casual games: Queen (OP04-040).

How Leaders work, and the ones that change deckbuilding rules, is in One Piece Leader cards.

Cards Worth Knowing

The rest of the deck is single-color cards. These show what the pair's Leaders are built to use; they are examples from Standard-legal sets, not a list of the best cards.

Where to Start

The fastest start is a starter deck with a Blue/Yellow Leader: ST-13 The Three Brothers (Standard legal, difficulty 4 out of 5). Each guide covers the deck as sold and the upgrades worth buying first.

To build one, pick the Leader first and fill the 50 cards in its colors; the steps are in how to build a One Piece deck. TurnZero HQ's One Piece Deck Lab flags any card that doesn't share a color with your Leader, and decks players have published are at One Piece decks, searchable by deck name or by a card in the deck.
