Green/Black in the One Piece TCG

Green/Black is a control pair. Green rests Characters and K.O.s rested ones, Black lowers costs and K.O.s by cost, and both sets of removal get easier when used together.

Green/Black is a deck led by a Green/Black Leader, so it can play any Green card and any Black card. Green rests, Black lowers costs, and rested low-cost Characters fall to both.

As of October 2026, Bandai has printed three Green/Black Leaders. Two are legal in Standard, one has rotated out with block 1.

How Green/Black Plays

Perona (OP06-021) is both colors in one effect: once per turn, rest an opposing Character costing 4 or less, or give one −1 cost. Green's K.O. effects mostly target rested Characters at or below a cost, and Black's lower that cost, so a Character can be rested, shrunk and removed in the same turn. Thriller Bark Pirates cards like Gecko Moria (PRB02-013) play Characters back from the trash.

Brook (OP15-022) is a different deck. Under his rules you do not lose when your deck reaches 0 cards; you lose at the end of that turn instead. Each turn he trashes the top 4 cards of your deck, and once it is empty he sets a Character active. Black's trash effects get stronger as the trash fills, so the plan is to win before the end of the turn the deck runs out.

What each color does on its own, counted from the card text, is in Green and Black on the colors page.

What It Does Well, and What It Doesn't

Strengths

  • Removal that stacks: rest with Green, lower the cost with Black, then K.O.
  • Recursion from the trash, Black's other specialty.
  • Perona's choice of rest or −1 cost is useful every turn.

Weaknesses

  • Brook's deck is on a clock it sets itself: you lose at the end of the turn your deck becomes 0.
  • Only two Leaders were legal in Standard as of October 2026.
  • Little power boosting, so attacks into a high-power Leader need DON!! support.

Green/Black Leaders

Your Leader is the only two-color card in a Green/Black deck: every two-color card Bandai has printed is a Leader. These are the ones legal in Standard as of October 2026, with what each one asks of the deck.

Rotated out of Standard with block 1 on April 1, 2026, and still playable in casual games: Issho (OP04-020).

How Leaders work, and the ones that change deckbuilding rules, is in One Piece Leader cards.

Cards Worth Knowing

The rest of the deck is single-color cards. These show what the pair's Leaders are built to use; they are examples from Standard-legal sets, not a list of the best cards.

Where to Start

No English starter deck has a Green/Black Leader as of October 2026, so this pair is built from booster cards. The starter deck guide lists the boxes in Green or Black if you want a one-color deck to start from.

To build one, pick the Leader first and fill the 50 cards in its colors; the steps are in how to build a One Piece deck. TurnZero HQ's One Piece Deck Lab flags any card that doesn't share a color with your Leader, and decks players have published are at One Piece decks, searchable by deck name or by a card in the deck.
