One Piece Card Game · Color Pairs
Black/Yellow combines Black's costs and trash with Yellow's Life cards. Five of its Leaders were legal in Standard as of October 2026, and each uses Life in its own way.
Black/Yellow is a deck led by a Black/Yellow Leader, so it can play any Black card and any Yellow card. Black's cost tricks and trash with Yellow's Life, with more Standard Leaders than any Black pair.
As of October 2026, Bandai has printed six Black/Yellow Leaders. Five are legal in Standard, one has rotated out with block 1.
Marshall.D.Teach (OP16-080) gives all of your Characters +1 cost on your opponent's turn, out of reach of cost-based removal, and once per turn can trash a [Trigger] card from hand to move an attack onto himself or a Blackbeard Pirates Character. Gecko Moria (OP14-080) K.O.s one of your own Thriller Bark Pirates Characters for +1000 to your whole side, and trashes 3 cards when attacking to add a card to your Life.
Kyros (EB01-040) turns a Life card face up to K.O. a 0-cost Character, which pairs with Black's cost reduction. Koala (OP12-081) punishes big plays: when your opponent plays a Character with a base cost of 8 or more, or plays one through a Character's effect, they add their top Life card to their hand. Monkey.D.Luffy (ST13-003) refills an empty Life area with two 5-cost Characters face up.
What each color does on its own, counted from the card text, is in Black and Yellow on the colors page.

Your Leader is the only two-color card in a Black/Yellow deck: every two-color card Bandai has printed is a Leader. These are the ones legal in Standard as of October 2026, with what each one asks of the deck.

How Leaders work, and the ones that change deckbuilding rules, is in One Piece Leader cards.
The rest of the deck is single-color cards. These show what the pair's Leaders are built to use; they are examples from Standard-legal sets, not a list of the best cards.
The fastest start is a starter deck with a Black/Yellow Leader: ST-13 The Three Brothers (Standard legal, difficulty 4 out of 5). Each guide covers the deck as sold and the upgrades worth buying first.
To build one, pick the Leader first and fill the 50 cards in its colors; the steps are in how to build a One Piece deck. TurnZero HQ's One Piece Deck Lab flags any card that doesn't share a color with your Leader, and decks players have published are at One Piece decks, searchable by deck name or by a card in the deck.
Once per turn, Kyros (EB01-040) turns your top Life card face up to K.O. an opposing Character with a cost of 0. Black's cost-lowering effects bring Characters down to 0 so he can target them.
