Red/Yellow in the One Piece TCG

Red/Yellow combines Red's attacking with Yellow's Life cards. Its Leaders treat Life as something to spend: draw it into your hand, fill it with Characters, or get stronger as it runs low.

Red/Yellow is a deck led by a Red/Yellow Leader, so it can play any Red card and any Yellow card. Red's power cuts with Yellow's Life and Triggers, spending Life as a resource.

As of October 2026, Bandai has printed three Red/Yellow Leaders, all legal in Standard.

How Red/Yellow Plays

Yellow is the Life color: more than half its cards mention Life, and about half have a [Trigger]. Red adds power and power cuts. Jewelry Bonney (EB04-001) shows the combination: once per turn she gives −1000 to an opposing Character and, with 2 or more Life, can add your top Life card to your hand, and she gains +2000 on your opponent's turn at 1 or less Life.

Belo Betty (OP05-002) trashes a Revolutionary Army card from hand to give up to three Revolutionary Army or [Trigger] Characters +3000, which is a large attack turn on its own. Sabo (ST13-001), from the ST-13 Ultra Deck, puts a Character with 7000 power or more from your field into your Life face up for +2000 on up to one of your Characters.

What each color does on its own, counted from the card text, is in Red and Yellow on the colors page.

What It Does Well, and What It Doesn't

Strengths

  • Big swings: Belo Betty's +3000 to three Characters makes one turn hard to defend.
  • Cards from Life. Bonney turns Life into hand cards, so the deck does not run dry.
  • Triggers make each hit on your Leader risky for the attacker.

Weaknesses

  • Spending Life to gain cards brings you closer to losing, and the deck must time it.
  • Only three Leaders, each with a different plan, so the pair has little shared card pool.
  • Neither color draws much outside Life, so a slow game can leave you short.

Red/Yellow Leaders

Your Leader is the only two-color card in a Red/Yellow deck: every two-color card Bandai has printed is a Leader. These are the ones legal in Standard as of October 2026, with what each one asks of the deck.

How Leaders work, and the ones that change deckbuilding rules, is in One Piece Leader cards.

Cards Worth Knowing

The rest of the deck is single-color cards. These show what the pair's Leaders are built to use; they are examples from Standard-legal sets, not a list of the best cards.

Where to Start

The fastest start is a starter deck with a Red/Yellow Leader: ST-13 The Three Brothers (Standard legal, difficulty 4 out of 5). Each guide covers the deck as sold and the upgrades worth buying first.

To build one, pick the Leader first and fill the 50 cards in its colors; the steps are in how to build a One Piece deck. TurnZero HQ's One Piece Deck Lab flags any card that doesn't share a color with your Leader, and decks players have published are at One Piece decks, searchable by deck name or by a card in the deck.
