What's in the box

These are the cards that decide how the deck plays. Each one links to its card page, with its current price.

How it plays

Quaquaval ex's Spiral Shot does 230 for two Energy and puts 2 Energy from Quaquaval into your hand. Baxcalibur's Super Cold attaches a Basic Water Energy from your hand to one of your Pokémon as often as you like each turn, so the Energy Spiral Shot returns goes straight back on. Exciting Dance does 60, moves Quaquaval ex to your Bench, and makes your opponent switch their Active Pokémon for one of their choice.

The box includes 2 Rare Candy and Radiant Greninja for drawing.

Is it Standard legal?

No. Quaquaval ex, Baxcalibur and most of the Trainers are G-mark cards, and Radiant Greninja is older; all rotated. It plays in Expanded.

Every upgrade card below carries an H, I or J regulation mark, the marks legal in Standard since the April 10, 2026 rotation, checked against our Pokémon card catalog on October 10, 2026. Basic Energy is always legal. See which cards are legal in each format for how regulation marks and reprints decide it.

Upgrade path 1: Tighten the Stage 2 setup

Two Stage 2 lines and two Rare Candy is not enough; a third and fourth Rare Candy get Quaquaval ex and Baxcalibur out together far more often. Ultra Ball finds whichever is missing.

What comes out: Both Indeedee and both Energy Search.

Upgrade path 2: Move to Mega Greninja for Standard

The Standard Water deck is the Mega Greninja ex League Battle Deck, which also uses Water Energy from hand every turn (Mortal Shuriken discards one to place 6 damage counters). Its guide covers it in detail.
