What's in the box

These are the cards that decide how the deck plays. Each one links to its card page, with its current price.

How it plays

Meowscarada ex's Bouquet Magic discards a Basic Grass Energy from your hand to put 3 damage counters on one of your opponent's Benched Pokémon, once a turn. Scratching Nails does 100, plus 120 more if your opponent's Active Pokémon already has damage counters on it. Gapejaw Bog places damage counters on Basic Pokémon your opponent benches and Radiant Alakazam moves counters around, so Scratching Nails is usually at 220.

It is a Stage 2 with no Rare Candy in the box, so it sets up a turn later than most decks here.

Is it Standard legal?

No. Meowscarada ex, its evolution line and most of the Trainers are G-mark Paldea Evolved cards, and Radiant Alakazam is older; all rotated. It plays in Expanded.

Every upgrade card below carries an H, I or J regulation mark, the marks legal in Standard since the April 10, 2026 rotation, checked against our Pokémon card catalog on October 10, 2026. Basic Energy is always legal. See which cards are legal in each format for how regulation marks and reprints decide it.

Upgrade path 1: Add Rare Candy

The single biggest upgrade is Rare Candy: three or four copies let Sprigatito evolve straight into Meowscarada ex on your second turn. Ultra Ball is already in the deck; keep all four.

What comes out: Two Dunsparce and two Klara.

Upgrade path 2: Move to a Standard Grass deck

Hydrapple ex is the current Grass Stage 2 that rewards Energy on the board: its Ripening Charge attaches a Basic Grass Energy from your hand each turn and heals 30, and Syrup Storm does 30 plus 30 for each Grass Energy on all your Pokémon. Teal Mask Ogerpon ex attaches a Grass Energy from your hand to itself and draws a card, and takes no damage on the Bench. Mega Venusaur ex is the Mega option: Jungle Dump does 240 and heals 30.
