Evolutions is the twelfth and last XY expansion: 108 cards up to the printed total and five secret rares above it (109 to 113), among them Flying Pikachu, Surfing Pikachu and Here Comes Team Rocket!.

It revisits the 1999 Base Set. Many of its regular Pokémon are Base Set Pokémon with their original artwork, Mitsuhiro Arita's holo Charizard (11) among them, alongside Pokémon-EX and Mega Evolutions of the same Pokémon and a run of full arts.

Cards and rarities

Evolutions has 113 cards. Every card shows its number over the printed total along the bottom, as in "1/108", next to the set code EVO.

The printed total is 108, so the 5 cards from 109 to 113 are secret rares. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. How set completion works →

What a complete set costs

One copy of every card in Evolutions, bought as singles, cost $766.58 on October 22, 2026. That is the 13th most expensive of the fifteen sets in the XY series.

Complete set $766.58
Main set, 1 to 108 $735.47
5 secret rares $31.11
Top three cards $284.23 (37%)

The three most valuable cards, M Charizard-EX, Charizard and M Blastoise-EX, come to $284.23, or 37% of the total. Without them the set costs $482.35. Of the 113 cards, 75 were under $2.00, together $26.32; the other 38 add up to $740.26.

Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil where both exist, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.

Playing it

No Evolutions card carries a regulation mark, so none is Standard-legal as printed, apart from its basic Energy cards, which Standard allows from any set. Standard has allowed only the H, I and J marks since April 10, 2026. Every card in Evolutions is legal in Expanded, which takes every set from Black & White on.

A reprint with a legal mark makes older printings of the same card legal again, so check a card's name before you rule it out.
