Disney Lorcana Ink Pairs
Amber and Emerald is one of the 15 two-ink combinations a Lorcana deck can be built in. This page covers how it plays, what it does well and badly, and the cards that show its plan, as of October 2026.
Amber & Emerald is the yellow-green pair. Amber's Support and sturdy questers with Emerald's Evasive and Ward characters: a deck that goes wide with cheap characters and races for lore.
New to the inks? The ink colors guide covers each one, and all 15 pairs are listed side by side.
Amber and Emerald tends to play a lot of cheap characters and quest with all of them. Amber's Support characters add their strength to another character when they quest, and Emerald's Evasive and Ward characters are hard to challenge or target, so the opponent has trouble picking off the questers one at a time.
Woody & Buzz Lightyear - Best Buddies rewards a deck that spends its hand quickly. When you play them, if the opponent you choose has more cards in hand than you, you draw until you have as many, and each time they quest you may play a card with cost 2 or less for free. A deck that has already put its cheap characters on the table is the one most likely to be behind on cards when they arrive.
What the pair gives up is removal. Neither ink banishes characters as readily as Ruby or Steel, so it has to win the lore race rather than control the board.
Strengths
Weaknesses
A dual-ink card counts as both of its inks, so it can only go in a deck built from exactly those two. As of October 2026, the Core-legal dual-ink cards are the 16 from Attack of the Vine! (set 13), and one of them is in Amber and Emerald.
These show the plan described above rather than a decklist or this month's best cards: one from Amber and one from Emerald. Every card on this page is from set 9 or later and legal in Core Constructed as of October 2026.
Ravensburger has sold three starter decks in Amber and Emerald as of October 2026. Each arrives as a legal two-ink deck, and each upgrade guide says what to cut and which cards to add.
To build your own, the Lorcana deck-building guide walks through the 60-card minimum, copies and inks, and TurnZero HQ's Deck Lab checks the list against Core Constructed or Infinity as you build. Decks other players have published are at Lorcana decks, searchable by deck name or by a card in the deck, such as Woody & Buzz Lightyear.
If Amber and Emerald is close to what you want but not quite it, these keep one of its inks and change the other.
Amber's Support and sturdy questers with Emerald's Evasive and Ward characters: a deck that goes wide with cheap characters and races for lore. Which version is strongest changes with each set, so treat any list as a starting point.
As of October 2026, the Core-legal one is Woody & Buzz Lightyear - Best Buddies, from Attack of the Vine! (set 13). A dual-ink card counts as both of its inks, so it fits only a deck built from exactly Amber and Emerald.
Yes, three as of October 2026: Into the Inklands Amber & Emerald Starter Deck (Infinity only), Whispers in the Well Amber & Emerald Starter Deck (Core legal) and 2-Player Starter Set: Amber & Emerald Deck (Core legal). Each has an upgrade guide on TurnZero HQ.
Not in Core Constructed or Infinity, where a deck uses at most two inks. Format Coconut, Ravensburger's multiplayer format in open beta, allows up to three.
The Deck Lab checks your deck's inks, size and copies against Core Constructed or Infinity as you build, and you can publish it to share the link. Free on iPhone, Android and the web.
