Red/Green in the One Piece TCG

Red/Green pairs the attacking color with the color that rests your opponent's cards and sets your own active again. It has more Leaders than any other pair, and most of them are about getting more out of each DON!! card.

Red/Green is a deck led by a Red/Green Leader, so it can play any Red card and any Green card. Red's power and [Rush] with Green's resting, built around giving and readying DON!!.

As of October 2026, Bandai has printed eight Red/Green Leaders. Six are legal in Standard, two have rotated out with block 1.

How Red/Green Plays

Red raises power and lowers your opponent's, and has the most [Rush]. Green rests opposing Characters, including Blockers, and sets your own DON!! and Characters active again. Together they make a deck that attacks every turn and clears the way first: rest a Blocker with a Green effect, then swing with a Red Character that has the power to get through.

The Leaders mostly reward a specific crew. Luffy & Ace (ST30-001) gives every Monkey.D.Luffy and Portgas.D.Ace card +3000 power on your opponent's turn, but loses 2000 power if you control a Character with 7000 base power or more, so its deck is built from 6000-power Characters. Smoker (OP10-001) sets 2 DON!! active once you have a 7000-power Character, Tony Tony.Chopper (OP08-001) hands out rested DON!! to Animal and Drum Kingdom Characters, and Monkey.D.Luffy (OP13-001) rests your own DON!! on defense for +2000 power each.

What each color does on its own, counted from the card text, is in Red and Green on the colors page.

What It Does Well, and What It Doesn't

Strengths

  • Pressure that gets past Blockers: Green can rest a Blocker before Red's attackers swing.
  • DON!! efficiency. Setting DON!! active again lets a turn spend the same DON!! twice, once to play or attack and again to defend.
  • Depth: six Leaders were legal in Standard as of October 2026, built around different crews and card names (Straw Hat Crew, Land of Wano, East Blue, Navy and Punk Hazard, Animal and Drum Kingdom).

Weaknesses

  • Little card draw. Neither color draws much (Blue is the draw color), so the deck can run out of cards in a long game.
  • Conditional removal. Red K.O.s low-power Characters and Green K.O.s rested ones, so a large active Character is hard to remove.
  • Many Leaders restrict the deck: Krieg's best effect wants only East Blue Characters, and Luffy & Ace punishes 7000-power Characters.

Red/Green Leaders

Your Leader is the only two-color card in a Red/Green deck: every two-color card Bandai has printed is a Leader. These are the ones legal in Standard as of October 2026, with what each one asks of the deck.

Rotated out of Standard with block 1 on April 1, 2026, and still playable in casual games: Monkey.D.Luffy (OP01-003), Trafalgar Law (OP01-002).

How Leaders work, and the ones that change deckbuilding rules, is in One Piece Leader cards.

Cards Worth Knowing

The rest of the deck is single-color cards. These show what the pair's Leaders are built to use; they are examples from Standard-legal sets, not a list of the best cards.

Where to Start

The fastest start is a starter deck with a Red/Green Leader: ST-30 Luffy & Ace (Standard legal, difficulty 3 out of 5). Each guide covers the deck as sold and the upgrades worth buying first.

To build one, pick the Leader first and fill the 50 cards in its colors; the steps are in how to build a One Piece deck. TurnZero HQ's One Piece Deck Lab flags any card that doesn't share a color with your Leader, and decks players have published are at One Piece decks, searchable by deck name or by a card in the deck.
