One Piece Card Game · Color Pairs
Red/Purple uses Purple's extra DON!! to reach Red's biggest attackers a turn early. Its Leaders care about how many DON!! you have, and several switch on only at a set count.
Red/Purple is a deck led by a Red/Purple Leader, so it can play any Red card and any Purple card. Purple's DON!! ramp feeding Red's big attackers, with DON!! counts that switch effects on.
As of October 2026, Bandai has printed six Red/Purple Leaders. Five are legal in Standard, and one is banned.
Purple is the color that adds DON!! from the DON!! deck, and Red is the color that turns DON!! into power. Uta (OP06-001) trashes a FILM card when attacking to give −2000 and add a rested DON!!, and Sugar (OP10-003) adds an active DON!! when you activate an Event on your opponent's turn. The extra DON!! goes into Red's high-cost Characters or onto attackers.
Gol.D.Roger (OP13-003) is the count-based Leader: he has 7000 power and 5 Life, gets one DON!! from each DON!! Phase given to him, and loses 2000 power while you have 9 or fewer DON!! on the field. Monkey.D.Luffy (ST10-002) adds an active DON!! at 0 or at 8 or more. Both reward knowing exactly how many DON!! you will have next turn.
What each color does on its own, counted from the card text, is in Red and Purple on the colors page.

How Leaders work, and the ones that change deckbuilding rules, is in One Piece Leader cards.
The rest of the deck is single-color cards. These show what the pair's Leaders are built to use; they are examples from Standard-legal sets, not a list of the best cards.
The fastest start is a starter deck with a Red/Purple Leader: ST-10 The Three Captains (partly rotated, difficulty 4 out of 5). Each guide covers the deck as sold and the upgrades worth buying first.
To build one, pick the Leader first and fill the 50 cards in its colors; the steps are in how to build a One Piece deck. TurnZero HQ's One Piece Deck Lab flags any card that doesn't share a color with your Leader, and decks players have published are at One Piece decks, searchable by deck name or by a card in the deck.
