What's in the box

These are the cards that decide how the deck plays. Each one links to its card page, with its current price.

How it plays

Miraidon ex's Tandem Unit puts up to 2 Basic Lightning Pokémon from your deck onto your Bench once a turn, so your board is full on turn one. Electric Generator then attaches Lightning Energy from the top of your deck to them, and Regieleki VMAX's Transistor Ability adds 30 damage to your Basic Lightning Pokémon's attacks against the Active Pokémon.

Every attacker is a Basic, so there is no evolving to wait for, which is why the deck is easy to learn: bench, attach, attack with whatever does the most damage. Bibarel's Industrious Incisors draws until you have 5 cards each turn.

Is it Standard legal?

No. Miraidon ex, Electric Generator, Arven, Professor's Research, Beach Court, Nest Ball and Vitality Band carry the G mark, and the Regieleki, Zeraora and Bibarel cards are Sword & Shield era. All rotated. It plays in Expanded.

Every upgrade card below carries an H, I or J regulation mark, the marks legal in Standard since the April 10, 2026 rotation, checked against our Pokémon card catalog on October 10, 2026. Basic Energy is always legal. See which cards are legal in each format for how regulation marks and reprints decide it.

Upgrade path 1: Keep it for Expanded

In Expanded the box works as it is. Add a third Miraidon ex if you can find one, because a turn-one Tandem Unit is what the whole deck is built on, and Prime Catcher as the ACE SPEC the box does not have.

What comes out: One Switch for Prime Catcher.

Upgrade path 2: Rebuild a Lightning deck for Standard

There is no Standard-legal copy of this Miraidon ex. The current Miraidon ex is a different card: Hadron Spark does 120, plus 120 more against a Pokémon ex. Pikachu ex's Pika-Pika Parade puts any number of Basic Pokémon from your deck onto your Bench, which plays the role Tandem Unit did, and its Thunderbolt does 200 at the cost of all its Energy.

Without Electric Generator the Energy has to come from Supporters. Crispin finds two Basic Energy and attaches one, and Prism Energy provides every type of Energy on a Basic Pokémon.

What comes out: Everything except Boss's Orders, Ultra Ball, Switch and the Lightning Energy.
