Riftbound · Domains
Calm is Riftbound's green domain and its defensive one. It takes a battlefield and keeps it, with Shield and Tank units, Reaction tricks, spells that push enemy units back to base and half of the game's counterspells. It is slow to go on the offensive.
Calm is green, one of Riftbound's six domains. Defends battlefields. Shield and Tank units, combat tricks, spells that move enemy units away, and the most counterspells.
Riot's theme for it: "balance, meditation, and the peace of holding." As of November 2026, 19 of the game's 58 Legends have Calm, and any of them can lead a deck that plays its cards.
Calm is built around holding. Its units are the most likely to have Shield, which adds Might while defending, and Tank, which makes them take combat damage first, so a Calm unit on a battlefield is expensive to attack. Calm also has the most Reaction cards, which let it answer in the middle of the opponent's turn instead of on its own.
Its interaction is about tempo rather than removal. Calm moves enemy units back to their base (Janna, Savior does it as she comes in), protects its own units with combat tricks, and counters spells: half of the cards in the game that counter a spell are Calm, with Defy as the cheapest.
What Calm lacks is a way to start fights. Its units are sturdy rather than fast, and most of its interaction depends on having a unit in the right place, so a Calm deck with an empty board has little to do. Pairing it with Fury or Body gives it the attackers it is missing.

Weaknesses
These start from what Riot's Deckbuilding Primer says Calm is good and bad at. The other domain in your pair, and your Legend, can cover a weakness: a Legend that draws cards helps a domain that doesn't.
Counted from the 953 main-set cards from Proving Grounds and Origins through Radiance as of November 2026, without Legends, battlefields, runes and tokens, one per name. A card with two domains counts for both.
The regions and types that show up most on Calm cards: Ionia above all, then Shurima, Mount Targon, Bandle City, the Freljord and Cats. Of its 168 cards, 147 have only Calm and fit any deck whose Legend has it; the other 21 are two-domain cards, which need a Legend with both, and 21 of those are Signature cards tied to one champion.
Each has only Calm, so it fits any Calm deck. They show the domain's style, not a ranking of its best cards.

Calm always shares a deck with one other domain. These are the five pairs with Calm, each with its Legends, Signature cards and how it plays.
For Magic: The Gathering players, the nearest color is white. Calm defends like white, but it also holds the counterspells Magic gives to blue. Mono-White in Magic →
Calm is green. Riot's Core Rules give each of the six domains a color, a symbol and a one-letter shorthand, and Riot's Deckbuilding Primer describes Calm as "balance, meditation, and the peace of holding."
The best defenders: Shield and Tank are most common in Calm, and it has the most Deflect, which taxes spells that target its units. Half of the game's counterspells, and the most cards playable as a Reaction. Moves enemy units away from a battlefield instead of having to beat them in combat. What it struggles with: Slow to go on the offensive; its units are built to defend. Most of its interaction needs its own units on the board. Few ways to remove a unit for good.
As of November 2026, 19 Legends have Calm, each with one other domain: Fury and Calm (Akali, Rogue Assassin); Calm and Mind (Ahri, Nine-Tailed Fox, Ornn, Fire Below the Mountain, Lillia, Bashful Bloom, Nasus, Curator of the Sands, Orianna, Lady of Clockwork); Calm and Body (Master Yi, Wuju Bladesman, Lee Sin, Blind Monk, Jax, Grandmaster at Arms, Master Yi, Wuju Master, K'Sante, Pride of Nazumah); Calm and Chaos (Yasuo, Unforgiven, Irelia, Blade Dancer, Vex, Gloomist, Riven, The Exile); Calm and Order (Leona, Radiant Dawn, Azir, Emperor of the Sands, Ivern, Green Father, Shen, Eye of Twilight).
Every Legend has two domains, so Calm always comes with one of the other five: Fury and Calm, Calm and Mind, Calm and Body, Calm and Chaos, Calm and Order. Every one of those pairs has at least one Legend as of November 2026.
Yes, the most of any domain. Six of the 12 cards from Origins through Radiance that counter a spell are Calm, including Defy, Wind Wall and Crumbling Sands.
