Arena

Land MV 0

Tracked across real Commander games played through TurnZero HQ.

What it does

3, T: Tap target creature you control and target creature of an opponent's choice they control. Those creatures fight each other. (Each deals damage equal to its power to the other.)

Rulings

4 official rulings, in the order Wizards published them.

  • 2004-10-04

Either or both creatures can be tapped prior to using the ability and it still works.

  • 2004-10-04

The power of the creatures when the effect resolves is used to determine how much damage is done.

  • 2004-10-04

In multiplayer games, you can choose a different opposing player each time it the ability is activated.

  • 2006-09-25

If either target is illegal at the time the ability resolves (whether because it has left the battlefield, because it has gained Shroud or Protection, or for any other reason), the ability taps the remaining target, but no damage is dealt. If both targets are illegal, the ability doesn't resolve.

Rulings are Wizards of the Coast's own, mirrored from Scryfall and refreshed nightly.

3 printings, newest first. Prices are the market figures Scryfall publishes, refreshed nightly — a printing with no figure shows a dash rather than a zero, because Scryfall genuinely publishes none for some of them.

Prices from Scryfall, which tracks the TCGplayer and Cardmarket markets. They move daily and are a guide rather than a quote. Search TCGplayer for Arena — a name search across every version, for the printings TCGplayer publishes no direct link to.

Aggregated from Commander games tracked in TurnZero HQ. Every figure counts decks and games only — no individual deck list, player or playgroup is identified. Win rates are withheld below 5 completed games, where the sample is too small to mean anything.
