Death-Priest of Myrkul

Creature — Tiefling Cleric MV 4

Tracked across real Commander games played through TurnZero HQ.

What it does

Skeletons, Vampires, and Zombies you control get +1/+1.

At the beginning of your end step, if a creature died this turn, you may pay 1. If you do, create a 1/1 black Skeleton creature token.

Rulings

3 official rulings, in the order Wizards published them.

  • 2021-07-23

Death-Priest of Myrkul's last ability will trigger only once during your end step, no matter how many creatures died this turn. However, if no creatures have died so far this turn as the end step begins, the ability won't trigger at all. It's not possible to cause a creature to die during the end step in time to have the ability trigger.

  • 2021-07-23

A creature you control that's more than one of the creature types listed in the first ability will get only +1/+1.

  • 2021-07-23

Death-Priest of Myrkul doesn't need to have been on the battlefield when the creature died. For example, if a creature dies during combat on your turn and you cast Death-Priest of Myrkul during your second main phase, its last ability will trigger at the beginning of your end step.

Rulings are Wizards of the Coast's own, mirrored from Scryfall and refreshed nightly.

1 printing, newest first. Prices are the market figures Scryfall publishes, refreshed nightly. A printing with no figure shows a dash rather than a zero, because Scryfall publishes none for some of them.

Prices from Scryfall, which tracks the TCGplayer and Cardmarket markets. They move daily and are a guide rather than a quote. Search TCGplayer for Death-Priest of Myrkul. It runs a name search across every version, which covers the printings TCGplayer publishes no direct link to.

Aggregated from Commander games tracked in TurnZero HQ. Every figure counts decks and games only. No individual deck list, player or playgroup is identified. Win rates are withheld below 5 completed games, where the sample is too small to mean anything.
