What it does
When this creature enters, each player discards a card.
Unearth 1 ({1}{B}: Return this card from your graveyard to the battlefield. It gains haste. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step or if it would leave the battlefield. Unearth only as a sorcery.)
Rulings
One official ruling, as Wizards published it.
- 2009-02-01
When Rotting Rats's "enters" ability resolves, first the player whose turn it is chooses a card to discard, then each other player in turn order does the same, then all cards are discarded at the same time. No one sees what the other players are discarding before deciding which card to discard.
Rulings are Wizards of the Coast's own, mirrored from Scryfall and refreshed nightly.

Aggregated from Commander games tracked in TurnZero HQ. Every figure counts decks and games only — no individual deck list, player or playgroup is identified. Win rates are withheld below 5 completed games, where the sample is too small to mean anything.
